Halo and Metroid crossover

i don't think MS would allow that XD

atleast not as a WiiU exclusive, and putting Samus on another platform is kinda out of the question, but it could work on the 3DS i guess? Microsoft isn't against their franchises getting games on their compititors' handhelds.

I don't think MS really thinks of Nintendo as a competitor or at least their main one, it's usually Sony they're talking about. Still it has like zero chance of ever happening lol

If western third parties don't want to release their games on a Nintendo console, why would they do collaborations? Ah, yes, money.

based on the "only Nintendo games sell on Nintendo platforms theory", i'd think letting third parties apply their gameplay on existing Nintendo franchises would pave the way for 3rd party games to start being successful on Nintendo platforms again. of course this is just a theory and isn't going to happen overnight, and it might even backfire, but who know?

I don't think this is new, maybe for western developers. You could be right with Next Level Games having successful Ninty titles, and I think the Mario Party games were made by Hudson, and maybe there might be more stuff like that.

Maybe it is possible, money does makes the world go round, that's how Microsoft gets into business. Although some developers don't see it that way and would try anything to weed out the competition, but as you say time will tell.

EDIT: Could be an interesting read

that footage looked pretty damn cool for a DS game

honestly my first thought was "no! no more crossovers! just new ip like ms did with epic on gears", then I started seeing some of the ideas here and definitely think a game Zelda spinoff starring sheik made by ubi could be awesome. Also, if a Metroid drained a necromorph I think it might just die. Anyway, I still stick by my first thought however; new ip with western development and Nintendo character design.

We've seen more than just Luigi's Mansion: Punch-Out!!, the EXCITE games, and the Battalion Wars series all come to mind, for example.
