Still think more people buy their vita games digital than 3ds users buy digital. Numbers are just slightly skewed in that regard, but of course numbers will always be better for 3ds given the userbase, no contest. It is a bit strange that Western developers sell more 3rd party vita games than Japanese developers...

3DS eshop sales are soaring.  I'm sure the percentages would be about the same if adding those.  Not sure how the 3rd party retail games are selling on the eshop but Nintendo first party digital titles such as Animal Crossing: New Leaf are selling in the millions.  AC:NL will probably end up selling at least +5m digital sales lifetime.

I´m sure some Capcom and Atlus games have been selling a lot on digital format, because both companies have been launching very, very attractive promotions on its games. I remember when Capcom offered Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate for, like 20 % of its actual price, for just four days, it provoked such a rush that it was difficult to download it at certain hours of the day

The point of the thread is to bust the myth that 3rd parties performs better on Vita than on 3DS, since that isn't true.

Please bust this for me. Please provide accurate sales data for games available on both systems. As exclusives isnt a fair comparison due to variables,

In the second post of this thread, I compare games that's out on both the 3DS and the Vita. Two things should be noted: Rayman Origins was released on the Vita 3 months before the 3DS version, and those games are the 10 best selling multiplat games for the VITA, NOT the 3DS. If the systems shares any more games together, most likely they sold better on the 3DS than on Vita. The 3DS has a lot more 3rd party games it seems, so it was a lot harder to extract sales data from multiplat games on that platform, since I had to look through a hell of a lot more games than I had to go through on the Vita.

And further more, the 3DS has 47 3rd party games that sold 0.3m or more, while the Vita has... well... 10 games that did 0.3m or more.

I honestly don't know what else you want. The 3DS has the best top 10 selling 3rd party titles, the 3DS has a lot more games that did just as good, or better than the 10th best selling games on PSV, and most multiplat games sold better on 3DS.

You compare big ip with small ip witch is not a fair comparaison with actual situation you cannot compare top selling game on 3ds with top selling game on vita to proove that third party games sold better on 3ds.

But your thread proove that 3ds has better support then vita because vita has only 2 big ip and 3ds a lot more.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

I'd say that CoD is THE biggest IP around at the moment... And Assassin's creed ain't small either. But yes, the 3DS has bigger IP's on it, which kind of skews the top 10. But I've also stated that 3DS has 47 3rd party games that's sold 0.3m or more, so that's 47 games that did just as good as the 10 best selling 3rd party games on Vita. And in the second post, I have Vita's Top 10 multiplat games compared to the same games on 3DS.

But your thread proove that 3ds has better support then vita because vita has only 2 big ip and 3ds a lot more.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

You're second post prove both handheld could had games will good sale i think kingdoms hearts and resident evil can have better sales on Vita then 3ds but Dragon Quest and Puzzle & Dragons wouldn't have higther sale on 3ds.

Man... this.... just doesn´t make any sense. It doesn´t matter if the Ips are big or small. They´re 3rd party Ips one way or another

Just some accurate figures inc digital downloads. We know the physical tracking of smaller IPs is dubious at best so I wouldn't trust the figures you have given for either system and so fear your analysis is based on completely flawed data.

Small ip will never outsell big ip ,vita had only 2 big ip ,3ds has 5 on the top 10 list.

There is no proof that Resident Evil and Kingdoms heart wouldn't do better on vita then on  3ds.

Yes, it is regretable that we can't use digital sales, and as such trying to track ANY game sales these days is flawed. This whole site is flawed because of it. Even the NPD numbers are flawed. The only numbers we can truly trust are those from the actual companies, and we don't get them too often. But I still think that the numbers I've provided gives us an idea of how well 3rd parties are doing on each platform. I haven't seen a better analys of this particular subject anywhere else.

The thing is though, that the 11th best selling 3rd party game on 3DS still outsold the THIRD best selling 3d party game on PSV...
