now that came out of the blue, why was there no announcement?
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

an arcade style heavly online racer and a Sim racer. Clealry totally in competition.

But what about the teaser to the teaser?

It's still a sim racer, just not as much as GT. They obviously compete. |
No they dont not that it really matters, GT and Need for speed had no issue coexisting. And these two differ to the point that no one will be choosing one over the other.

True but Polyphony's development times are absolutely glacial, this could just be a stopgap to GT7, I doubt Yamauchi would let anyone but PD use the name so it might just be to give PS4 a nice answer to FM5 on XB1 in the short term whilst the real heavy artillery gets ready

?? Gt5 was the only gt game with a long dev cycle (PS3 devlopment issues were not uncommon), so no their dev times are not glacial, gt7 will be out much faster.

Well, I hope so, but they wouldn't be the only Japanese dev whose cycles seem to have got out of hand (SE with FFXV, SCEJ with the Last Guardian). Hopefully you're right and PS4's straightforwards architecture irons out these issues

Weird, I somewhat remembered GT4 taking time to release. I agree with you, I don't find GT's release times to be particularly fast and yeah this is a good offering for PS fans to enjoy something more forza-like. |
Well GT3: A-Spec came out in April 2001 and GT4 arrived in December 2004, so over 3 and a half years. I'd say that's certainly longer than most games nowadays, though that might just be because we're now used to every game under the sun getting multiple annual sequels
GT5 (not Prologue) came out in November 2010, so that was nearly 6 years and GT6 came out in December 2013 so 3 years on.
I think it might just be because of how other series have only got faster in releasing, so whereas it used to be nicely spaced out it now feels like an age even though it's actually about the same other than GT5. So in theory GT7 should be with us in 2016 if you discount 5
Hopefully it takes the pressure off PD and allows them to finally abandon their old car models whilst providing Sony with another potentially successful IP
