Forums - Gaming - Your main console just pulled a Dreamcast, now what?

Your console of choice for the gen just pulled a Dreamcast, and the maker of the system is now 3rd party. They make games exclusively for the other 2 consoles. (No HH's or PC) What do you do? You can purchase another system, stick with HH's or PC anyway, or quit gaming.

My console for the gen is the Wii U. I don't plan on buying another console for the gen. If Nintendo went 3rd party, It'd be a toss up as to which console to buy.

Sony has: LittleBigPlanet & a cheaper yet more powerful system

Microsoft has: Kinect & money for 3rd party exclusives

I would probably pick the PS4 because of price.

I usually buy all the consoles in a gen so I'm good :)

That's cool. I don't have the money to do that. Plus, one console a gen is enough for me.

Which is (will be) your main console? If they went under, which would become your main console?

I mostly play PC and 3DS these days. If the 3DS died, that'd likely mean the market for dedicated handheld gaming consoles has died. It'd be sad, but I'd then just play games on PC/(and get a Wii U for my Nintendo fix.) If Nintendo went third party, then I'd just buy whichever console I can play my favorite games from them on (assuming the quality remained good.) If the games were multiplatform I'd buy a PS4. If the games were on both platforms, exclusively, then I'd get both. Basically, I have no reason to by a PS4 or an XboxOne until their prices drop, because I can have similar experiences on PC. If Nintendo moved to these consoles, then I'd play for their different experience.

For reference, I don't yet have a Wii U.

You could have just asked the Sega fans themselves with the title: Your main console WAS a Dreamcast...now what?"

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Well Ill probably buy the most games and spend the most time with the PS4, since it looks like multiplats are gonna be surperior on that, last gen that was the 360 for me, but if Sony went under and Nintendo still wasn't getting third party support then Microsoft's next console would be my main and Nintendo's would be my secondary.

I'd spend more time with the wife I suppose.

It'd be retro and PC gaming for this Nintendo fan, unless some PlayStation system finally offered enough great JRPG's to be worth my time and money.

I literally just noticed that ur profile pick is a cat holding 2 bottles of beer, for some reason I thought it was 2 bottles of bear in a container with ice...wow.

If PS4's out then I guess I go with XBO since they get most of the same games anyways.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
