Yeah, looking at what VGC said this really isn't very surprising. Still not good though.

These numbers are tough to reconcile with VGC numbers since VGC likely has errors going back to 2012.
For example, VGC has 2012 at 3.818m. Up 5% would be 4.009m. That would leave around 900k hardware unaccounted for in 2013. Considering PS4/XBO were said to be around a third of the market and those only sold 894k, I doubt the total is over 4m.
Hurrah, 3DS went up YOY, barely!
That Vita drop is quite spectacular, but I guess it's not that unexpected considering how much Sony seems to care about the platform.

It was a mistake. PS4 beat 360 in revenue but not in units sold.

Only Vita was down, Wii U went up 42%.

Not if you know anything about shipments. the ps3 is already negative supply according to VGC... But in any event, the numbers I quote will be pretty accurate as we Knowles approximate sales. a higher percentage of a higher initial figure means a much higher undertrack, obviously. |
Nope, 2012 is definitely overtracked, by over a million consoles.
Look at what the article says. PS4 and X1 make up 1/3 of all console sales and console sales overall are up 5% in 2013. The same group said that the PS4 and X1 sold about 530k and 360k respectively in the UK in 2013, so all console sales are at about 2700k in the UK, which is 5% higher than last year, so last year sales were at about 2570k. Vgchartz has 2012 at 3800k and 2013 at 3200k.

The UK is most certainly not Sony territory.
