I guess the articles complaining about the development for PS4 and X1 were wrong as well. All consoles are great and perfectly to develop for. Hurray!

The article they are debunking was hearsay to begin with. A "secret" Wii U developer?.....really? Also playerescence is also pro Sony and pro PC but because of all the media bias and ridiculous anti Nintendo garbage there is out there he chooses to defend them with facts. Whatever problem you have with Nintendo and its fans is your problem and yours alone.

He did John Lucas an interview? I never knew people where giving him the time of the day with that prediction of his. Not a serious gaming website at least.

In situations like this, just as with more conventional streams of journalism, such as magazines and newspapers, the credibility of the anonymous source is literally synonymous with the credibility of the publication.  When you ask if you can trust the validity of the source you're really asking if you can trust Eurogamer.  Normally, the higher level editors will know the identity of the source and, as they're placing the credibility of their publication on the line, they'll be confident that the source is being accurate and honest--that, or they'll be confident that any false information won't be caught.

Obviously, though, a grain of salt needs to go with reading anything by an unnamed source.  In many cases it will be more honest than offcial quotes, where people have to be more politically correct, but there is always the chance that it's not fully or even partially correct.

The article sounded genuine to me and I can't really think of any reason why Eurogamer would publish something they thought was false.  It wasn't even that bad, so the idea of it being "click bait" does not seem valid.  I certainly won't take it as gospel but I think it was a fair account of someone working on a launch port for a new system.  It would be a lot more surprising if there were not any problems during development.  I fully anticipate reading similar articles about the XO and PS4 a year from now.

At least he does his research before he comes to a conclusion. So what if he interviews John Lucas? Isnt that what journalist do to get a story? Have you ever written an article, conducted an interview or gathered research to get facts?

Eurogamer seems to be a trusted site. Personally I think it's true but as you said, we have to take it with a "little" grain of salt.

I am confident that it was true but not because it comes from Eurogamer. I am confident because of the Wii U itself. The way Nintendo fucked up everything when they had everything going for them leads me to belive this article is probably true.

I doubt we will have the very same articles for the PS4 in a year from now. Maybe some articles about the Xbox One but I think the PS4 isn't going to get anything but good press.
