I have a question for the people here who really like the idea of Playstation Now.

What if Microsoft had unveiled Xbox One as a service instead of a console. You basically could play Xbox One games on many different devices and it required an internet connection and a subscription. You would not have any kind of ownership rights for games but instead would completely lose access to them if your subscription lapsed. What would your reaction to that have been?

If I did not have the option then it would have been negative, the same as if PlayStation Now was announced instead of the PlayStation 4.  Choice is everything.

The thing is you would have had a choice.  You could choose to go with a PS4 or WiiU instead.

Positive, but wouldn't sign because I don't like ms first parties so i would have to buy a ps4 anyway. And even as a sony product i'll need to see more because i  like ownership and being able to play even after the service finish. Ps+ i see as an extensive rent for small price so it's good, i doubt ps now will be as cheap, so probably won't use.

When you say something worth agreeing with. Reasonable people with agree with you. Yes, am saying i nodded instead of shaking my head while reading your post. Sony hype is on totally another level. Each small thing is celebrated as huge victory and all the failures are never talked about again. The Last of Us won over 100 GOTY awards...yea bro but most other first party games under performed or failed. No worries.

OT: Funny stuff.

Who would celebrate or talk about failures?

How dare Sony fans talk about a game they liked and not a game that they didn't like.

As a big fan of PS3 am offended that you want all of us to be hypocrites. Also you are talking to one of the very few fans of The Last of Us that showed up to show support for it in the "Top 50 Games of All Time" thread. Rest of them were too busy doing god knows what or creating yet another thread for it with CAPS LOCK ON.

About sony fans loving anything... That is why pspgo, psvita got so right and ps3 took off very fast.

Internet fans and the average Joe that might be in the market for a PS product = same.

I am totally serious here........Sony selling something is essentially a non-effort on their part.

Sony: We are announcing _______

Sony fans: LOVE it!

PS Move (when fans denounced the Wii), PS Plus (subscriptions), PS4 multiplayer (paywall), PS Now (internet requirement). They seriously can't miss if they tried.

Like all the Xbox fans who supported XBO's idiot DRM policies? Or all the Nintendo fans who don't care about region locking? Don't act like it's only Sony with blind supporters.

Except the DRM supporters were in the vast minority. Most Xbox supporters agreed with the haters, albiet we werent as adament with our bias and all.

We all have blind supporters, but don't sweep under the rug the numbers and level of support Sony has from its fans.

You should make a comic about how Sony wants people to pay to play online now. That would make more sense because if their huge increase in PS+ subscriptions shows us something then that most people didn't give a damn about PS+ and only pay for it now because they have to if they want to play online.

Sony does pretty much what Microsoft already did with Xbox, they force a huge amount of gamers to pay to play online. All the stuff the gamers don't want to pay for like the "free games" doesn't really make it better if you don't want it. But yeah, Microsoft was evil because of that and Sony isn't in many peoples opinion. I mean, they could throw games worth 500 bucks a week on people, if they only want to play online why exactly do they have to pay for that if that was so bad from Microsoft?

PS Now is right now not really comparable with what Microsoft wanted to do as long as you still have the chance to buy retail copies and as long as youhave the possibility to play them always offline as long as it is singleplayer game.

Could be different in maybe 10-15 years if Sony would release games only as PS Now games but as long as they don't do it you can't really complain about it.

lol well if only it was that simple. Sony fans have a rich history of overhyping every upcoming exclusive. If they succeed....we never hear the end of it. Uncharted 2 2009 GOTY ring a bell? And if they bomb, there is no humble mindset....nono they literally erase it from memory. The game never existed. Forum hype comments from months ago are erased. But hey look, this new exclusive looks AMAZING! Hype mode!;)

I know what you are trying and that a lot of it was more on fanboys...

But about the general reception from sony fans have you supposed that sony products are good and the fan usually like most of what is show? Some that aren't released have a long list of possible buyers if it were more than a concept.

Considering how many failed gaming-related products Sony has released, there should be more caution than is actually displayed by fans. Although things have improved over the years I've been here. The "everything Sony does is amazing" attitude isn't as prevalent anymore, but there are still too many people who get caught up in the hype. Although... when I compare the hype to the aftermath, I get the impression that some people are more in this for the hype than the actual products. Maybe that is really the underlying problem.

Hype for hype may be the problem... I saw a lot more of love for wiiu before launch them after, in vgc and web in general.
