I'm sure once we get affordable 3D TVs that don't require glasses for 3D, then 3D gaming will become more popular. Don't know when that will happen though

I know I am in the minority right now, but I really miss 3D. The best experiences I had on in the 7th gen were Gran Turismo 5 in 3D with the GT Force Pro, and Killzone 3 in 3D with the PlayStation Move Sharpshooter. My favorite play through of Uncharted 3 was the one I experienced in 3D.

My problem with 3D is not a matter of the experience itself, but the amount of content.

In fact, one of the things I was looking forward to the most this gen was these consoles being able to do 1080p per eye at 30fps. I really hope they eventually get back to it because, for me, nothing has ever pulled me into a world like those experiences did.

3D gaming never actually woke up in time to join the party. Even if the best selling console is a 3D one.

I was thinking this recently play Puppeteer on my PS3 and how it screams 3D at times with the style and actions on screen and yet I did not see a 3D compatible notice on the box.

Unless it is built into the system (like the 3DS) I do not think it ever had much of a chance.

I was a fan of the 3D. In my collection, Gears of War III, Uncharted 3, Enslaved, Halo Anniversary, CoD BLack Ops, and more got play just because they had the mode. I hope it's not dead but it seems that way.

Seriously, if you like 3D at all buy Doom 3 BFG edition and try Doom3 in 3D. While certain things (like dynamic lighting shadows, the flashlight, certain texture changes) are not good in it, the 3D implementation is extremely well done.

I like 3D gaming on the 3DS, the recent A Link Between Worlds really shows you how much more you can see in 3D, it makes it MUCH easier, especially in dungeons.

But I guess this topic is about pushing 3D for TV's, and I'm not a very big fan of active 3D which most 3D TV's are. It's very flickering for me, my one eye is much weaker than the other. But on the 3DS I see the 3D perfectly fine and have no problems with it, so I hope they make more 3DS games that really shows how it's done.

Tried wipEout HD in 3D, and it was cool even though I think the framerate really stuttered, and that's NOT good in that game. :P

3d was likely a fad. 4K is probably the future.

I recently fired up WipEout HD strictly for the 3D and couldn't figure out how to get it going.  I'm an idiot.
