Scary numbers has been released today. Market cap for the videogame companies are out.

Sony is in serious trouble. Despite selling 4.2M PS4 since launch, a big bump in PS+ suscriptions and a good PS3 holiday, the company has inferior numbers than Nintendo, the one with the missing forecasts and red numbers every quarter.

It's clear that Nintendo, even without selling the 9M Wii U's this FY, is above one of the largest companies around the world. Nintendo is the japanese kingdom ruled by Satoru Iwata (please understand), whom in his stubborness is rejecting profits for the company by not going third party and releasing its software on other hardwares.

So, where should Sony go from here?

They have shitty products outside of games. Gaming isnt the broken part of sony, they lost money bc of movies so this makes no sense other than troll bait and doom thread to get even with some other dumbass fanboy.

I think Sony should make exclusives on the Wii U. The combination would be absolutely unstoppable.

Sony should sell a bulding or two. That's gotta put them back on top.

Playstation isn't why Sony is sinking. It's all the other shit Sony owns that makes it worth less than Nintendo. Also Nintendo's stocks jumped overnight because of China's lifts on the console ban. Once investors see what the limitations of the ban (if there are going to be any) is and how the Wii U is faring - they will drop it. Nintendo's stock raise is purely by chance and has nothing to do with the sucess of Nintendo's products.

Also, unline Nintendo - Sony makes great hardware. So no I'd rather play games on a Sony console.

Sony's TV division should go third party, maybe.

Sony is a format leader, which means their formats affect the outside market. They are always on the forefront of popular formats and helping widen out the products marketshare, so no. They will always be needed for hardware. What Sony needs to do is drop the Vita and restructure their business. The gaming portion of Sony does not carry the massive amount of weight as Sony as a whole. In order to increase their value they either have to rebrand, change the valuation of their products and drop dead weight products (IE: MP3 players and possibly Cellphones).

Sony will always have my respect because they are known for taking huge risks to push tech. Problem is they don't have the proper pricing or marketing strategy to back those things up. They need to start thinking solely about profit now for the majority of their electronics.
