Eaxcatly, that's a good possibility. Brainstroming and planning usually take 1-2 years and doesn't require a whole lot of staff, so that could very well be what's happening at the moment.

DK64 is my Favourite donkey kong game so i would definitely not mind if they made both 3D and 2D Donkey Kong Games, i loved collecting all the stuff in DK64 and i want the 3D-Platformer/Collectathon to have a renaissance

I'd prefer another Metroid or a different franchise from Retro first, but 3D DK in the future would be good.

I would love having both 2D and 3D Donkey Kong platform games! That being said, Retro need not work on both. I'd rather it focus on a neglected Nintendo franchise or an entirely new IP.

EAD Tokyo Group 1 would be a great candidate for a new 3D Donkey Kong.

I hated DK64 when it was released. I was a lover of DKC 1&2, and when seeing videos of the game, I was blown away by how it looked. When I finally played it, I was very disappointed. The game didn't feel like a DKC game, it had waaay too many collectibles, and every thing just felt floaty. Too many gaps in gameplaying in having to listen to npc's. It was just bloated and not very fun.

I did like the battle mode though, that was pretty fun.

But I would ask, why would Nintendo want to make another 3D DK game?

Yes, yes, yes!!! Donkey Kong 64 is still one of my favorite games, and easily my favorite Donkey Kong game (even if the only other I've played so far is DKC). I'd totally be down for another 3D one. Please make it happen!
