12 players aint all that bad people, especially when the maps will be populated with bots too.

Call of Duty sells 20 Million a Year on 6 vs 6 matches.

6 vs 6 works well for their map size. Now it's large maps populated with bots. and a few players. And people want to bash cod for lacking skill. This will be even worst.

So you have played it?

all that cloud power used and in the end only 6 vs 6.

Maibe in the pc they do 12 vs 12

The game isnt a multiplayer game in the sense of a Match to win etc etc. It has a campaign and story. Hence why they are using the Cloud processing for AI etc. Its essentially a new form of SP/MP game. Which is why they needed something more than the traditional servers of old MP games. Respawn back in June said the PC version would have to have changes as it wasnt orignally going to use the Xbox Live Cloud, but since then Microsoft opened up Cloud to 360 and PC. So nw the PC game is not going to be re engineerd. It can have all the bells and whistles as Respawn stated.

I'm pretty sure that this a multiplayer only game.

There is a 'multiplayer campaign' though: a multiplayer mode with mission objective and a story narrative that's suppose to carry through to a conclusion.

Did they say how long the multiplayer campaign will be?

6v6 on it's own can be fun but as a max this is pretty disappointing. i've always prefered the 32 player maps personally and at least having some bigger maps helps add a lot of variety to a game. being multiplayer only it seems like they ought to have at least got to some 24 player maps.

But what if there are atleast 24 players on each map, along with Titans and such, only that 12 of the players are AI controlled? It shouldn´t make any difference for the players but could even out the difficulty so you can actually finish the levels :)

it's not like titanfall is the first game to add bots to a match before.  ...and traditionally the bots make gameplay worse.

Please read about Titanfall. More players and more maps is one aspect. Titanfall is not a traditional MP game. It has a full Campaign/story. I guess this is why ignorant people on this site compared it to COD with Mechs. This game isnt remotely the same as COD or BF.

Consider me an ignorant person, if it's not a online FPS shooter like CoD or BF, what is it? An MMOFPS like Dust514 or Planetside 2?

Many people here know only a few things. They know it'd developed by the people that made 'Modern Warfare', so CoD comparisons arrive there and they know it's a shooter with mechs (vehicles). And they've only ever seen the few promotional videos so far released.

Hmm, pie.

In what way?

Ofcourse most people bashing now are Sony fans, just happy to have something to bash while it really doesn't matter

Well it is also pretty normal to expect an increased player count when you move a new gen.  I would honestly dissapointed if Halo 5 would not have a incread player count in MP..

"Ain't that bad" isn't going to cut it, especially when people claim this is the one exclusive that can save the One and help it outsell the PS4.  Yet, they make these claims about this game, including that it will have a 95 metascore, and they know very little about it.

This thread has been interesting. Everyone not on XBOX side of things is disappointed and everyone who has some sort of xbox is pretty okay with this. PC players also seem kind of mellow but they usually love bigger is better.

As for me, this is completely okay. Despite, Call of Duty having a ground war mode with 18 players. Most people, ended up playing modes like team death match and other 6 vs 6 modes. Considering this has those titan things running around along with human players. It should be chaotic enough with the player count.

Anyways here is the response of Respawn PR team on that other site...

"Lots of armchair game designing going on in here. I'd suggest playing before judging a something as insignificant as a number in a vacuum.

Vince is right - we tried a huge amount of playercounts (all the way down to 1v1 and up quite high) and designed the maps, gameplay mechanics, and entire experience around which played best. If anyone wants to chase the numbers game, perhaps we're not the experience they're after? I dunno.

And FYI, for amount of stuff happening at once in a map you'll be hard pressed to find a game that keeps the action higher. I literally have to stop playing every few rounds because my heart just can't take it some times. Remember, you can get out of your Titan and let it roam on AI mode - meaning there can be 12 Pilots wallrunning around, 12 Titans stomping below, and dozens of AI doing their thing.

Oh, and I keep seeing people thinking we've got "bots" when we talk about AI. Thats not how they are. The AI in Titanfall are not replacements for human players. Our playercount is not 6v6 because of AI - AI play their own role in the game and are a different class of character in the game.

Can't wait! Only a couple months until speculative threads like this are gone and people are actually talking about their experiences with the game. Its truly fun stuff, and I hope everyone at least gives it a try.
"

Cheers.

This is an excellent explanation

I guess the same applies to those shitting on the game they haven't yet played.

Yeah, criticising a game that you have no idea how the atmosphere is or the scale of gameplay is just dumb. I know a few people at PAX Prime that loved it, and "player count" isn't brought up as a complaint at all. BTW Titanfall's  killcounter goes all the way up to the first team to 200 kills wins. And that's in like 15 minutes. That means its moving super fast.
