I love those commercials, but are they even legal anymore?

Sega basically told kids that Nintendo sucked ass and is for babys only. I think today Nintendo would sue any company for making them have a bad reputation. xD

Sega shouldn't make a Steambox as Sega hasn't made hardware in ages. They'd try to pick up from blast processing and then their heads would explode.

They should allow Asus, MSI or Gigabyte and let them make one. Bundle the Sega Genesis Collection and provide some Sega based wallpapers and BAM! Profit!

You are just jealous because none of your consoles or PCs have blast processing.

Actually my Sega CD/32X/Genesis sitting in the basement is Blast processing enabled...thank you very much.

Also my "upgraded" Sega Nomad does blast processing better than most. It also weight 8 lbs though after the battery and screen "upgrades" lol...

Oh my god, that is a lot of blast processing! Now you got me curious, how much time does the Nomad's battery can hold now?

45 mins to an hour maybe lol. 12 AA Batteries wired in serial.

I don't think so. It might work if Sega could get their games on it exclusively (i.e. not on the other Steamboxes) but I doubt Valve would allow it, so most people would probably just buy their games for existing PCs or other steamboxes and so at that point you lose your hardware's big selling point. Maybe if something huge took off it might still be viable but I don't see it

As much as a bit of variety would be nice, Sega are better off as they are I would say. That's not to say that they're perfect though (Yakuza 5, VC3 etc.)

always loved that on our Europe version of the megadrive, I guess tbh High is relative but yeah... my megadrive is my first HD console :D

I'm not sure really if its legal to make ads like that or not anymore, however it is illegal to false advertize to consumers  and people over it all the time. I think Sega was trying to differentiate themsleves from Nintendo who at the time and I suppose still does have the "for kids image" , so Sega thought lets put a mature image on and see if we can compete that way and it worked somewhat.  I'm going to have go see if I can some examples commericals like from today if there still legal that is. Thanks posting the link for the ad and it was great to see again ;).

Hm... actually I think that this commercial only points out the weaknesses of the old NES which could never handle these graphics. So it's not false advertizing. I guess.
