Skyward Sword beat Majora Mask in everything but side-quest. This my opinion which I can support with some facts and strong opinions.

That depends entirely on your perspective. Reading your post I would actually say that Wind Waker is on of the best choices for an HD remake, if the remake is about actually improving the game. Excluding Zelda II: The Adventures of Link, it is to me the biggest candidate for a second chance.
