Forums - Gaming - Sony America should straighten up! Vita selling poorly in the US

Just look at the difference

na/europe/japan/global

na should look at how it improved in japan, with the right titles, the system will improve in sales

Vita is selling well in Europe due to just one game: Fifa

Which game could make Vita sell in America ? Madden ? or CoD?

There is a things called smartphones and tablets in the U.S. and they play GTA San Andreas. PS Vita doesn't have GTA.

GTA San Andreas on a touchscreen.

That's got to be a laugh.

GTA III played really well on the iPad actually. No other mobile game comes close when it comes to quality and value as you can imagine, especially at $5,99. My comment was putting it a bit to simple but really tablets and smartphones are killing the Vita. It's quick gaming entertainment on the go and the games are free or a few bucks at most, there is simply no way for a system like the Vita with full priced games to compete.

I think it will naturally gain sales alongside PS4 because people are getting free vita games with their compulsory PS+ subscriptions so one day they will atleast buy the hardware, and lead them to buy other games.
But unless its games are different to ps3 and ps4, not many people will care so it will need more games like gravity rush and soul sacrifice.

Wow, its depending too much on the PS4.......

Then why is the 3DS dominating?

I'm not saying that there is market for a dedicated gaming handheld, but it has to have a place in the market. Vita is just to close to tablets/smartphones when it comes to audience, and it doesn't have enough software that sets the device apart. Nintendo's frachises are really well suited for handhelds, Vita mostly has dumbed down console games and games that created around the device are mostly niche.

CoD on Vita was horrible.

SCEA could start by localizing FF Type-0 to the Vita?  It'd be nice to get some solid 3rd party exclusives as well. Like how Capcom was suppose to bring a new Resident Evil game for the PSP but never did; I'd love for the Vita to have a RE game, or even put RE Outbreak back on would be awesome.

@OP:
Totally agree. Sales now aren't impressive but surely decent in the rest of the world, it just needs to better A LOT in USA to finally secure its comfortable niche (actually quite big for a niche) for those that want something portable but different from 3DS, smartphones and tablets. PSP showed that market exists, but PSV isn't able yet to fully claim its inheritance.

Vita needs to follow the PSP route and release many quality exclusives of the best franchises and new IPs too. There's no way it can survive if it does not have a good game library and full of essential games that people will invest enough to gain interest in buying one. PSP sucked for a while too (the first year essentially) but then great titles came along and the handheld still has good numbers even today.

Needs more RPGS, just picked up Persona Golden, this is they type of game this platform was made for, so much fun.

Sony should set more teams like media molecule's 15 man team that created Tearaway, the wait will be more, but their will be much profit and will potentially help PS Vita.
Imagine small teams from ND,sucker punch etc making games for PS Vita.
