There is a things called smartphones and tablets in the U.S. and they play GTA San Andreas. PS Vita doesn't have GTA.

Then why is the 3DS dominating?

I'm not saying that there is market for a dedicated gaming handheld, but it has to have a place in the market. Vita is just to close to tablets/smartphones when it comes to audience, and it doesn't have enough software that sets the device apart. Nintendo's frachises are really well suited for handhelds, Vita mostly has dumbed down console games and games that created around the device are mostly niche.

Oh ok, now I get what you meant.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Mr Puggsly: "Hehe, I said good profit. You said big profit. Frankly, not losing money is what I meant by good. Don't get hung up on semantics"

I knew sales were bad but i didnt think they were this bad. This is what "doomed" really looks like.

I was looking at the PSP numbers and I think the reason why the Vita is bombing is pretty clear. Monster Hunter sold 14.13 million copies and GTA sold 13.5 million copies over the course of all the titles released. Those were your 2 console sellers, 1 for the west and 1 for the east and the Vita has neither. The bad news for Sony is that GTA isnt coming and the entire Monster Hunter fanbase has shifted to Nintendo. This is the same thing as Nintendo missing Mario Kart and Smash Bros except that Nintendo is getting those soon and apparently a Wii U Pokemon game, which would be bigger then both of them.
