Mostly agree, but MS are shipping way more than they're actually selling, especially in europe. My local retailer has probably enough X1s to last them over a month already (≈30), including one Day One edition console, meanwhile even the Wii U is sold out (though that's probably cause they didn't order many).

Im not really interested in anecdotal evidence. If stock gets too plentiful for either we will know about it, just like we knew about it with Wii U and retailers sending them back to Nintendo.

Time will tell the sales story.

While my story is definitely anecdotal there is still more evidence that the X1 is not selling as much as it could, I think. I don't necessarily think that retailers will send units back to MS, but rather that they won't order very many in the next weeks.

Everything looks over tracked to me. Post Christmas drop off should have been in full effect this week comparing these numbers to last year. If they aren't over tracked and the week being one day early really made such a difference, then next week is going to have some brutal numbers for everyone.

So the PS4 is now just 1.3 million units behind the WiiU. Well I guess it overtaking by March doesn't sound too far off now does it 0_0.

With the latest numbers, Sony is slightly above the predictions I made last week (about 300-500k above my prediction for end of year). The reasons behind this adjustment is key to where it'll stand by the end of March. If the adjustments are based on the fact that Sony began hardware production two weeks earlier than I anticipated, then the system is on track to reach 5,5-6 million systems by end of March (still an adjustment of 500k compared to my prediction last week). However, if this weeks adjustment is based on increased production, then PS4 has a chance to reach 6-7 million systems by the end of March. Then there is a chance PS4 might overtake Wii U by the end of Q1. However, I still have doubts about a sudden production increase of this magnitude so close after launch. I doubt Sony's suppliers of components are up for a sudden increase this early on in production. Not to mention if it would be in Sony's interest to risk sitting with huge inventory as the market heads into low season.

So what about Wii U then? Well considering it actually seems to have performed 10 % above my prediction for week ending Dec 28, I still think we will see WiiU infront of PS4 by the end of March. My prediction of weekly Wii U sales of 75.000-100.000 systems during Q1 remain.

XboxOne is anyones guess...

I am really shocked at how well Xbox One is selling against PS4. Its doing INCREDIBLE numbers. IS PS4 selling good?

PS4 is available in over 50 countries and Xbox One less than 20. And in US Xbox One is regularly outselling PS4 each week. Apart from only 1 week. I was lead to believe Xbox One demand was lower. Xbox should get a nice boost when it releases in the 35 or so countries which only has PS4 at the moment.

Xbone is losing in UK and US... how can that be good? You can remove all the others countries from PS4 sales lol

PS. I can bet with you that PS4 won NPD December in US.

Hey its my opinion. But I think I'll be right. And 2016 will be hard for many to swallow when Cloud processing really takes off.

I agree with you. Though the ps4 and Xbox One should see less drop offs because ps4 is sold out everywhere and xbox one is still sold out in some places. And these two consoles should drop off a little later than the rest because they're brand new.

sony must be delighted with the usa share,it was important to get level pegging again in the biggest market,if they can hold up with the U & 1 then its job done for this gen

Wow, PS4 really hurting with the limited supply. Makes me hope for January though.

Eh, wait until the Holidays are well and truely done. When we know that pent up demand has been met and one or both arent struggling to keep up with said demand. Right now the hardware sales dont really matter. Theyre selling what theyre producing. Look at the Wii U launch and how well it was seemingly doing, right up until we hit January and it tanked hard.

That said, even tying with Xbox One in America will be seen as a pretty big win for Sony after the bloodbath that was 360 vs PS3 there. Going by VGChartz numbers they currently hold a ~200k lead in the main Xbox stronghold. Sony will be more than happy with that while the rest of the world is choosing PS4.

Almost two thirds of the Xbox One sales are coming from the US alone. When the holiday season is no more and we start to see the huge drops, the rest of the world simply arent going to be buying Xbox One in any meaningful number. Its already posting relatively poor numbers outside of the US. I think its gonna be quite similar to what we saw with Wii U sales wise up until Titanfall, where it will see a modest boost.

And talking about countries yet to have a release, lets not forget what PS4 has in February shall we?

This is exactly what Ive been trying to say. People keep saying "Wow X1 is doing well". How is losing your biggest market share (they had around a 20 mil lead with 360) a good thing? I can guarantee no one at MS thinks this is a good thing or is happy about this. PS4 tying or keeping up with the X1 is a huge win for Sony and a huge loss for X1 that will end up with 10 million lost customers this is not a good thig. MS wants to keep all its previous users from the 360 and add to it.

at WiiU. It topped XBO last week and now it barely beat Vita.....
