Yep, yep, yep! It's the best video games franchise out there! My two favourites are Abyss and Vesperia, but they are all worth checking out! Buy them! :D

They are pretty good, a little overrated though.

Hell yea i'd say try symphonia hd when it releases and Xillia if you have a ps3 and Vesperia f you have a 360. Abyss is really great as well in my opinion, but its on ps2 though if you have a 3ds your in luck. I actually feel like the newer games like Xillia and graces stories arent as god as the older games like abyss, phantasia and symphonia but their still pretty good overall..

Only the two Xillia games are inter-related. So it's definatly worth trying out a game and seeing if you like it. All the games play very similarly, and they are all pretty good.

So Yes, for at least 1 game IMO.

Since you have a PS3/PC I say get either Xillia or the Symphonia remake. Symphonia is better, but older. Vesperia (360) is my favorite entry.

They are worth playing there are none on the PC unless you emulate some older ones so since you ask for one on the PS3 I would start with Tales of Xillia only played it for a bit over a friends house but I thought it was very good the only Tales game that I played all the way through is Tales of Vesperia which is one of the best ones in the franchise.

Absolutely loved Tales of Vesperia and Tales of Xillia was pretty good too.

Just bought Tales of the Abyss 3DS and will end up buying Xillia 2, Graces F, Symphonia HD and Zestiria in the near future.

Its worth playing, and they arent related unless they have a 2 in the title. Given the only "2" coming out in the west is Tales of Xillia 2, only Symphonia and Symphonia dawn of the new world are related.

But, not all Tales games are worth playing. There are some really good ones and some well... not so good.

I recommend:

Tales of Eternia on the PSP or PS1 (goes by the name of Tales of Destiny 2 on the PS1, but its unrelated to destiny, wich has its own sequal only released in Japan)
Tales of Symphonia on the GC or PS3
Tales of the Abyss on PS2 or 3DS
Tales of Vesperia on the 360

Those 4 are the cream of the crop. Phantasia and Destiny were decent in their own time, but nowadays are way too dated and the remakes never left Japan.

Tales of Legendia
Tales of Graces
Tales of the World: Radiant mythology

People say Tales of Symphonia dawn of the new world is to be avoided aswell, but i have not played it so i dont know.

For reference i thought the lastest, Tales of Xillia was ok. I didnt feel like it reached the hights of the other 4 i mentioned mainly because the developers decided to split the story in 2, wich resulted in lukewarm storytelling in my opinion. But this doesnt happen with Xillia 2 and hopefully Tales of Zestiria, so im hoping better things from those two.

The Vita tales games, wich are remakes of the often not very good DS Tales, might be worth checking out if they get released. I know Innocence has a somewhat childish cast, but Hearts seems more in league with the Xillia age range.
