YOU CAME BACK!!!
*weeps*
I KNEW YOU'D COME BACK!!
Vizio is cheaply made but the picture is decent. I've went through 2 defective ones and told myself i'd never buy again.

Yeah, I did some googling trying to find my old post. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=4466006 in case you missed it. The general consensus is as long as you don't go with the bigger models, Vizio makes a good TV. 50 inches and up and you better go with the major brands. Hopefully that's changed now since the brand has apparently grown a bit in the past couple of years.

Yep, I wanted to come back on Jan 1st and bump my marijuana thread since Colorado and Washington started legalization but Smeags ruined my come back. I suppose that is what you get for using Miiverse as communication (not everyone checks it everyday, nor do I).
Anyways, you shouldn't worry about which brand you have. The thing that matters most is if it works. I got burned on my first LG LCD TV and had to get it fixed. Apparently it was dropped during shipment or just manufactured wrong because it gave out after barely a year. Parents fixed it by getting a new power board for it but I still probably won't buy another LG product again due to the experience (LG = Life is NOT good). Gave the fixed TV to my girl because I bought a Toshiba 40" LCD for a decent price. Always wanted a Samsung but couldn't find one for the right price.
Didn't Samsung brand used to be shit when they first came out? It took them a few decades to convince USA consumers that they were a "good" brand that they could trust. Kind of like Honda. Honda didn't start out too well in USA but after a few decades they are now considered one of the best and most reliable car manufactures around.
I consider it middle-tier. Upper-tier would be something like Samsung and Sony while bottom would be Emerson and Westinghouse. They look pretty good from what I've seen on the displays, but I wouldn't buy a Vizio TV because I'm picky.
I use a brand called "Fluid". Pretty sure they make Vizio look like Sony and LG and whoever the big TV names are.
Thanks jlmurph!

For me, nothing looks good in displays. They're never set up right. Before I settled on the Vizio I got, I actually grabbed a Toshiba from a furniture store but took it back the next day after the TV didn't look as good when I got home. Also settled on an LG from Best Buy but looked up reviews and decided to opt out at the last second. There was a comparison from either CNet or Engadget that did the 42 inch comparison and, to my surprise, in that size range, Vizio beat all of the big names. I think I can find the comparison, still. It would probably take a while, though. Anyway, a quality TV for the price and it was a no-brainer for me. I'm still ashamed to say the name some times, though.

This. When Vizio's first came out, I don't think they were really cheap tvs, but they weren't as good as Sony, Samsung, LG, Panasonic, but apparently they're up there as one of the better brands of tvs now while being fairly cheap too.

The quality is AWESOME and you cant get much cheaper. brands i consider bad would be Element, Magnavox. Westinghouse (the blackfriday tvs) brands I consider good would be samsung, sharp, sony, vizio... feel like im mussing one |
