So, I don't know if I'm the only one doing this, but I like to look at the list of the recently banned users pretty much every day, simply because a discussion that has got a user banned often is a very entertaining one.

Now, normally there were a couple spam accounts in between the accounts of real users that have been banned, so that was ok, but in the last couple weeks the number of spammers has risen dramatically, to the point that if you look at the 30 most recently banned users on this site right now 24 are spammers.

I don't think there is a possibility to stop spammers from registering and the mods are doing a good job with banning these users, but I thought maybe it's possible to delete the accounts of those permabanned for spam, since they really don't serve a purpose.

This is not a huge issue with the site but rather a small annoyance that I think can't be too hard to fix.

But... Its the closest thing some users will ever be to find love...

How do you check the users that recently banned?

I am a professional web developer and i would develop something that would only allow certain domains to get linked in the comments or that a comment doesen't show when this comment includes a link which is on a blacklist ;) That would not stop making them new accounts, but it would not let them post links in comments which is the main reason why spammers make an account on those websites. If you just prevent them from posting links they will probably stop trying to post on websites like this ;)

We need them to boost our membership numbers

most of them have no profile picture,so if we can search on accounts with a picture only alot would be solved

I hope they never go away, I always send them a goodbye message on their walls.
