What the internet explosion of the past 10 years has done is give idiots a louder voice than ever before. Everything sucks, everything is doomed based on 5 minutes on the market, there are no games for consoles not even 3 months old and so on, so on, so freaking on.

Is it so damn hard for people to understand that you can't change a whole industry over night based on NO demand.

What are people buying right now? Call of Duty and the same games they've bought before.

Are people actually asking for something else? No. They are asking for games. Games they've played before, games that are true and tested, games they enjoy. You do not innovate for the sake of innovation, just to say that you did. 

You want different games? Define "different" then, because at the moment all I'm hearing is whining about how everything is the same...but no other solution is actually given.

This is how last gen worked as well.

People started liking games without health bars...it became a norm, for better or for worse.

People started liking stream lined experiences...it became the norm, for better or for worse.

People started liking social integration of their games...it became the norm, for better or for worse.

People started liking online multiplayer games...it became the norm, for better or for worse.

People started liking "cinematic" experiences...those became the norm, for better or for worse.

Everything that came as changes over the PS2 / Gamecube / XBox era has been gradual and driven by demand, came as small changes that got popular later on and nobody agrees on whether they're good changes or bad ones.

And in today's landscape everything is considered as being doomed. We have more ways to play than ever before, more models to playing, more indie titles and the Big 3 trying to outdo each other at every turn.

What the Hell more do the idiots of the internet want? The Playstation 9? For me it's become something absolutely Sci-Fi what these overgrown man children have come to expect.

if there's one thing the past has proven than it's that it's anything but good for gaming if playstation is not on top. call me fanboy but so far i can remember, nobody complained that gaming was boring during ps1 an ps2 era. could it be that sonys is actually the only one who's trying to be innovative on the software side whereas the other 2 console manufactures are trying to fool people with countless none practical and therefor useless "hardware innovation" to distract from the fact that they

a) have absolutely no clue of how to be innovative on the software side or
b) simply don't want to because they realized it's much easier to cater to people who have no gaming history?

and the really sad part is that so many of you out there fall for it.

ehh don't really care if it was a good idea or not. Would have been at least exciting to watch how everything played out. And who knows... maybe the masses would have liked it. The 10 people sharing idea seemed really good. Would have been way more exciting than what we have now which is basically the 2 consoles that have almost the same power, similar online structure, similar games, etc.
