If he ain't a hack then why did each of his games flop ? Why is he resorting to making phone games that nobody wants ? Why did microsoft choose to make their own japanese studio instead of giving some contracts to mistwalker ? Why did he produce the massive pile of crap movie known as final fantasy the spirits within ? 

Before you call someone drunk go and face the facts first. Sakaguchi is the definition of hack. LMAO

Square enix would have went into the shitter with or without him. 

Sorry to jump in here, but it thought I would just point out how funny I found it that now people seem to be claiming that i/phone games are crap. I remember not too long ago phone games were going to be the new ’thing’ and certainly the death of Nintendo and its handheld business.

Thought I’d mention also that I liked FF The Spirits Within. It certainly wasn’t what was expected along the already established FF universe, but it was a good film IMO. At the very least it was better than that over the top pile of dog’s excrement Advent Children movie that all you could hear was people shouting “Mother” “Mother” “Mother” “Mother” all the dam time. That FF film was such a crock of shit, cause if you didn’t know FF7 you wouldn’t know what the hell the film was about, just utter shit!

Personally I don’t really care about Sakaguchi or what success or failings he has had, but I just thought I would mention the above.

@ OP, your guess is as good as mine, which is a new DMC game exclusive to WiiU because the series seems to be in decline.

Did they? Did they really think it was crap or the new age of handheld gaming? Many people and gaming websites were signing the praises of phone gaming and and even trackign the numbers, and giving them their own dedicated spots on various gaming websites along consoles and handhelds - tracking weekly software releases and all that crap. If the people really didn't think phone gaming was the new in thing, those people certainly didn't let their decenting opinions be known.

there is a huge difference between being a new thing, and being new and killing something off. EGM started doing previews and reviews for phone games, but they didnt stop DS 3ds etc coverage.

And lot of other people thought and still think phone games kinda suck, including me.

Sorry I have to jump in here, not stopping 3DS coverage or people on forums thinking phone games are crap doesn't disprove what he said, the were a number of people and analysts flat out saying that the handheld market was in trouble and that phones were taking over, some people still hold on to this notion. It reminds me of back in the PS2 era when games on Facebook and other social sites were taking off and the was this notion that in future it could kill off consoles, many of us knew it wasn't going to happen but that still didn't stop many believing and speculating that it would.

All the footage you got of it is years old (2010?). If this game were to be "ported" to the Wii U, it must've received a considerable graphic upgrade.

Chances that it got an upgrade are slim.

Why would that happen when not even Nintendo worries that much about their own games ?

Just take a look at hyrule warriors, you think Nintendo strikes these deals and worries about pushing the Wii U ?

 

Nope. Expect the game to look exactly like it was shown and avoid being overhyped =)

I'm not beeing hyped. The game doesnt interest me so far.

But it does look dumb to say the game looks bad when you havent even seen it (on the Wii U, if this rumor is true).

I never said those things didnt happen, im simply saying their were people saying and still saying phone games are crap but also say they are taking over in the same breath. Those two beliefs dont contradict.

so whats wrong with commenting on the info we HAVE seen? Its not like their is a gaurantee that the game WILL look different. Hell if anything the fact that its been in dev so long with nary a quiver tells me it wont be too hot.
