Well, let's put 3DS at 100M and Wii U at 30M, so we got 130M for the PS4. Taking in account that the PS3 with all the problems and bad planning will probably reach 100M, it wouldn't be such a stretch to reach 130M with the PS4.

Besides that, expect the 3DS to take a hit from smartphones in the next few years. Right now they are already more powerfull, in 2 years they will be crunching it in performance.

Haha OK.. Maybe you should at least wait for it to outsell Wii U by itself before you claim it'll outsell that AND a console that looks to be a top 5 selling console..

What makes you people so sure PS4 is just gonna continue to set the world on fire? Because of its current sales? You realize the thing just launched and is enjoying a natural holiday boost, plus the hype and novelty of the "new technology" right? What happens when that wears off? Because its a Sony console? History should have shown you by now that brand name means NOTHING when a new console is released. Every gen is a clean slate. Let's at least wait until we get to the dog days of Feb/March, when we will have a more clear idea of PS4s TRUE demand, before we start making ridiculous claims.

I don´t know if the PS4 can outsell the 3DS, but who knows how good the 3DS will in 2014 and 2015. 

Anything is possible, but I don't even think the PS4 can outsell the 3DS alone... so predicting it to outsell both... that's really a bit of a stretch.

Beating Wii U + 3DS. There's a chance, depending on if 3DS has really peaked like some people would like to believe. No chance in hell PS4 reaches PS2 levels though. PS2 owned the market that gen, it doubled as a DVD player, and owning multiple consoles was a less expensive proposition back then. Sony's marketshare now is a joke compared to those days, and PS4 doesn't have playback ability of some emerging media format that every other PlayStation before it had to hook in extra buyers.

EDIT: I should have included that it will be a big deal for PS4 to even beat 3DS by itself.

I highly doubt it. I am not going to say it's impossible since anything can really happen to any of the systems, but chances are 3DS will do over 90m (people saying 70m or less don't know what they're talking about). Also, Wii U will do at the very least 20m. To think it will do any less, Nintendo either has to cut the Wii U short or launch a new system within the next year.

I kinda feel like revisiting this. It's still very early in the gen but I want to say that I still believe in this prediction, actually I have more faith in it than I had when I made the thread.

I know that the majority of people disagreed with me, but what about now? Have recent numbers and the NPD report maybe changed some opinions?
