Forums - Nintendo - Posting from my wii u while watching The Blacklist! now that more people have a wii u, pros and cons!!!!

Pros
Off tv play, Tons of controllers options, free online, Pikmin 3, can install and update in the background, Pikmin 3!!!!
Cons
Off tv play isn't perfect, slow UI most of the time

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Pros Off Tv Play, Web Browser (i will some times watch porn at night using it when i am in bed),  Back Ground Installs and Downloads, Miiverse.

Cons Can't use the Wii Controllers on off TV Play in Wii mode, No opition to make fodders, and no opition to invite people in mid game.

Yeah, idk wtf is up with their UI. 1 gb dedicated to the OS and it's way slower than the xbox 360's. I like the design but the UI is just so sluggish. Need to put friends list in Miiverse and add Wii U chat to a mutlitasking app, THEN add in some voice chat. My only complaints.

you have to own software to play demos for it?

No. It's a little confusing since the redesign though. Instead of clicking the 'proceed to purchase' button, hit the title of the game itself. Then you'll have the option to download the demo.

I was going to go for the Wind Waker bundle, but the NSMBU bundle just so happened to be released the day I went to make the purchase, so I went with that.... I think I made the better choice.

A huge pro was the backwards compatibility, since I skipped the Wii...

Cons: I hate the eShop layout, UI is show as mentioned, and less than stellar online capabilities... seriously it's 2013.

Current gaming platforms - Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, New 3DS, PC

Around the Network

Pros:
- The next generation of Nintendo games.
- Nice UI.
- At least it doesn't just have a straight dual analogue controller.

Cons:
- Many lazy third party ports.
- Gamepad a step down from the Wiimote.

thought there was a new episode now I am disappointed.

TVii (with TV Tag) explained: The Wii U controller becomes your TV remote. Just touch a pic of your favorite show and the Wii U will turn to it (if set up properly). From there, you get a play by play of your favorite show to discuss with other TVii users. It also has little polls, random facts, etc. I think they updated sports events so that you can interact more but I don't really watch sports. It will also find shows on Netflix.

Setting up 3DS and Wii U: Make sure you're using your Nintendo ID and not your nickname. I think you can reset your 3DS if you set up the 3DS before setting up you Wii U. Do the Wii U first and then link ID's.

And Pros:
-excellent web browser
-some clever touch screen use in many games
-off TV play in most games
-Netflix on the pad
-watching videos from the browser on the TV while continuing to browse with the pad
-Miiverse
-Free online gaming
-pretty much perfect Backwards compatible
-Background downloading and updates
-no need (or ability) to install games to HDD
-Video chat on the pad
-Easy headphone access
-HD Nintendo games
-TVii

Cons
-Small HDD (I had to buy another for $50)
-Much weaker hardware than the competition
-Not nearly as many apps as the competition, even the PS3 and 360
-slow user interface...and it used to be slower!
-slim offerings on the eShop, even after a year
-doesn't upscale Wii games at all (So why do people keep disagreeing with me on this!?)
-No quick messaging system/game invites compared to the competition

Off-TV gameplay, TVii function and the pretty good web browser are things that i loved

it obviously has a sleek design like every Nintendo system and plays Nintendo SW which is his best feat.

What happened to street pass U?

It's in the eShop.  Don't know if it's free anymore.  They also have some videos that you can download and look around like you're there.  In fact, I think I'll download 'em all right now.  They're cheap but I didn't have the HDD space before.
