More that Nintendo is just as out of step with "the industry" in Japan as they are in the West. Nintendo makes the kinds of games that most developers shun, and that is why they are as successful as they are. There was a time when people understood that you had to make Nintendo-esque games, but that time is past.

68 games and only two of them with three votes altogether are first party Nintendo games. Guess Nintendo doesn't push as much quality as some here would like you to believe.
