This could be a massive piece of news in the long run. If it wasnt for COD and GTA, the PS3 would have been a massive failure and the Xbox 360 would have been a mild success at best. The game sales prove it and Sony's awful 1st party PS3 game sales prove it. Nintendo at this point can still move 40 - 50 million consoles with Kart/Smash/Zelda and their other games but if they ever want to get to the 80+ million mark, they are going to need some help. Minecraft is aimed towards a very wide range of gamers, just like Nintendo in general, and the touch screen could make the Wii U the best console to play it on.

In all seriousness, it is somewhat of a survival game when you first start out. You gather supplies and try to make a shelter before night when the enemies come out. But after a few cycles of gathering and crafting, the enemies stop being as much of a threat. At that point, you kind of have to set goals for yourself to keep things interesting.

I think PC is the only viable way to enjoy the game long term. There are a ton of great mods that keep things fresh. The vanilla game isn't partiularly fun IMO.

Well it's on almost everything else...so it only makes sense that it would come to the U eventually.

Damn this game is popular, everyday I send about 50 copies to every eb in the country. They sell out that quick.

they should try to get the next Exerquest(landmark) on Wii U.
It is not just an MMO but also a sandbox minecraft-like game with GOOD graphics(a voxel/polygon mix)and not that
ugly minecraft look(but you can still make ugly minecraft style worlds)
The game seems to be a logical and needed evolution from minecraft

I guess Wii U is the best console(except ps4/vita combination) for such a game.

Cool if confirmed. It's much needed third party support, and I think it could do well with the Nintendo audience and use the gamepad nicely.
