Ok you got me, didn't read the first post properly. Part because it's early here and part because it's weird to talk about "won" console wars that just started.

Also you are making my point. PS1 won its gen, PS2 won it even more with vitually no one to stop it. But then the PS3 came along and dumped everything  with poor planning. There wouldn't even be an Xbox today if Sony had got their shit together and launched the PS3 properly and in time. With last gen PS lost its edge. Before there was only ONE console out there for parents to get, but now there are 2 equally viable options. PS lost a big chunk of market share and their complete trust, part of which is that huge security breach from 2011.

Just catching up to a competition that you yourself made into one is not a win in my book.

We both agree that Sony fucked up with the PS3 launch, it damaged them, it damaged customers with its pricetag, it damaged developers for being so hard to develop for(Japanese devs not jumping to HD era as soon as the West), it damaged the games it got(inferior ports, announced exclusives going multiplat (AC was supposed to be PS3 exclusive)).  360 wouldnt have half its sales if PS3 wasnt so expensive.

But anyway, PS4 does everything right right out of the gate, it feels like its going too perfect despite being supply constrained. The only challenge PS4 has is winning back lost majority marketshare in the US and UK.

My thoughts exactly.  It is INSANE.  I don't even think he wanted those systems. He got a PS3, Wii, and 360 too. He comes over and we play WWE or Call of Duty and that's about it.  He's even told me he doesn't even care about games as much anymore. Last year, he got an iPad, a cell phone, and a bunch of games and he didn't bother playing with anything except the cell phone.  I honestly don't think he'll play with either of them for more than a week.  At least until the games come along.  He also doesn't do very well in school.  I believe they do it more for them than they do for him.  They just like bragging about how awesome their kid's Christmas is.

My kid has a great Christmas every year but she's an honor student and she doesn't ask for much.  She wants Mario and Luigi Dream Team and Mario Party for the 3DS.  That's it.  I got her like $800 worth of clothes and her grandparents got her a new laptop.  That's it.  Practical.  And I won't be begging people for money in January nor will I have a huge credit card bill (or any credit card bill.  I don't go into debt.).

I can tell u how MS,Sony and Nintendo determine the winner.....whoever makes the most $$$. They are huge companies that only wants your money. I hate when I hear x company cares about gamers, no they don't they want your $$$ that's it.

Yes, but the PS4's demand preliminary demand probably wont be satisfied until February or March. They also have a large amount of third party games which puts them at twice the advantage against the Wii U. Think about it. They'll corner them in no time. Once Titanfall and Destiny come out its over for the Wii U. The HD Twins will run past the Wii U. The way they are looking right now the HD Twins will sell 12-10 million in their first year.

I accept wii U lost this gen.
