Forums - Gaming - Why didn't Sony and Nintendo copy the kinect?

Kinnect is nothing.. both sony and nintendo have cams and mics.. anything cool kinnect offers they can do them self..

And both nintendo and sony was offered it first by the company that "inventet" it..

1. PS Eye
2. I liked Wii Motion Plus better.

Nintendo have a worth fad already.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Because it's a piece of shit, just like the PS Eye it copied :P

The PS4 is focused on a different market. I think introducing a gimmick like kinect later in the gen when the system is cheaper makes more sense.

Plus Wii motion, wii fit, and kinect were all fads. Sony doesn't want a repeat of move being late to the party. They need to create the next gimmick, not copy one that's fading away.

Because I want to play games, not yell at my system 15 times or wave around in front of it for something I can simply press a button in .001 seconds with absolutely no chance at confusion.

Nintendo always makes something new instead of copying something!!! And if you say a tablet controller is not new, asymetric gameplay is new!!!

It's obviously the best version of motion control around.

my opinion.

i loved the power it was so bad...  i mean realy? wii motion+ gets what i do, kinect dont.

The fact is that it is extremely limiting for gameplay purposes. Its alright when youre shouting out to it with voice controls and navigating menus and what not, but for straight up gameplay its simply not good outside of party, dance and fitness titles.

Nintendo arent focussing on media all that much, and thus its not really a necessity. Sony have had a motion camera since PS2.
