The fact is that it is extremely limiting for gameplay purposes. Its alright when youre shouting out to it with voice controls and navigating menus and what not, but for straight up gameplay its simply not good outside of party, dance and fitness titles.
Nintendo arent focussing on media all that much, and thus its not really a necessity. Sony have had a motion camera since PS2.
