I think almost nobody in the thread understood his point... Of course a cheap PC with a GT5XX ouperforms a PS3. His point is, get a PC with PS3 specs. That would be:
- AMD or Intel Quad core CPU with 3.2GHz+
- 2 GB of RAM
- NVidia GeForce 7800
The CPU is hard to find an equivalent, since Cell is PowerPC and the SPUs don't have an actually an equivalent. But X360 does similar things with a 3-core CPU, so let's assume its something like that. Notice that that PC CPU has way more cache. 512 MB of memory would be a problem for a modern OS, so let's go with 2GB to make it more close (1GB for the OS, so we will have 1GB for a game plus the GPU memory). The GPU is the bottleneck and wouldn't deliver the same performance than the console because of optimization.
What he means is that probably no PC available can beat PS4/One because of the optimization and in that he is correct.
PS.: But one thing is certain the title of this thread is horrible. Title: PS3 beats PCs on performance. Actual thread: PS4 and One specs aren't directly comparable to PC ones. Proof: PS3 comparison with 2006/2007 PCs.
