Xbox one sold 1M units worldwide in 24H, PS4 sold over one million units in its first 24-hours on sale in America and 700 000 units in Europe (in 48H).
This is probably why the Xb1 has more stock.

Part of launching is knowing how well you can supply the countries you launch in.  What's the point in launching in 48 countries if you can't support 48 countries with supply?

i think they did well and had great launch in all countries, too bad that might have affected the US supply but if people want a system day one they better pre-order, it's only logical.

having the upper hand in over 30 countries seems like good businness to me.

Is it that hard to believe the demand for PS4 is greater than Xbox one. Sony is on a hiring spree right now to get out more PS4's.

Yeah I imagine this is mainly due to to them shipping in what 14 countries as to where Sony is in 3 or 4 times that many. Not to mention NA is the biggest market for Xbox

Math is a science.  3.7 times as many is close.  There is a significant difference between 3.69 and 4.  It isn't close.

Had Microsoft launched around the world, but been unable to supply a world market with consoles would we argue that it's better?  No, you'd be arguing that it was unrealistic of Microsoft to launch world-wide and that they should have picked their launch markets better.
