| padib said: Hey guys, yesterday I was with my sister and a friend of hers (male, not her bf), and we were watching Machine Gun Preacher, which they loved. When we were done, we were all a bit drowsy and not in the mood to chat and really enjoyed the movie so weren't up for another one. Anyway we were out of things to do and I rarely get my WiiU out because my bros don't want their kids to get hooked. So, I thought this would be a good time to whip out the old SM3DW. When I brought it up, it's like they had seen an alien, the guy was extremely surprised I had the U and said that Nintendo was doing badly. I reassured him that I followed Nintendo's sales daily and that Nintendo would be just fine. (for reasons most level-headed posters here know) Anecdotes aside, I turned on SM3DW without spending any time at all in the OS cause I know that's a major turn off, and got right to the game. I had 1 padlet and a chuckmotion+ combo, so I gave the padlet to my sister and the chuckmotion+ to her bud, and I just watched them play. I was so surprised when I saw 1) how much fun they were having, (and the fun exploded on the Dragon water-ride level with the SM64 music) and 2) how skilled my sister was. :) After witnessing that, I'm pretty confident that word of mouth will make this game grow stronger and stronger in sales over the next 3 years. Nice to hear it's not all doom and gloom threads about the new systems also pretty cool you having fun at the holiday season with your family, nothing beats that.
Most of the times I break out games to play it's competitive stuff like street fighter or smash brothers melee, always goes down well but you're more spending time trashing your guests than applauding their abilitys heh... maybe I'm just a grinch at christmas :D awww well, enjoy the holidays mate :)

As brilliant as the game is for its diverse and sublime level design, lovely graphics, and toe-tappin' tunes, I have to tip my hat to EAD Tokyo for how well they implemented multiplayer.
Just the other day, my brother (Luigi!), sister (Toad!), and myself (Rosalina!) worked together to finish Champion's Road and Mystery House Marathon. As tough as it was (and over 100 lives were lost @_@) we were all smiles the entire time, working together to accomplish a tough task. In fact, all month long my siblings have always been asking me "can we play Mario?". I'm always happy to oblige. ^_^
Yes, as a matter of fact - since we're going anecdotal here:
I went with a friend of mine to get his XB1 at the midnight launch. He had also picked up the PS4 at launch, but I hadn't been over to his house yet so I got to see both of them at the same time. We spent all night (morning) and much of the next day playing BF4, COD, KZ, F5, Knack, Ryse and DR3, so I was a little late picking up my copy of 3D World for my WiiU on Friday.
After being blown away by 3D World I invited him over the following day to check it out. He, another friend, my girlfriend and I spent almost the entire Saturday playing Mario, and as a result he bought a WiiU and Mario the next day. I don't think he even turned on his PS4 or XB1 for most of the next week.

Now you reminded me of Mystery House Marathon... I threw the Gamepad on the ground while playing that. Then once I beat it with Mario it was pretty easy with the rest of the characters.
3D World is an amazing experience both single player and multiplayer..

Unfortunately I didn't have the benefit of playing those levels in multiplayer.
Mystery House Marathon was just a matter of learning what to do quickly, so once I beat it with one character it was pretty easy with the rest.
Champion's Road, however, was definitely the hardest level to complete for me. Stocking up on the Tanooki suit made it tolerable though.
