No! That's far from true. You shouldn't be ashamed of your choice. I have people  who I hang out with, that do not touch a single drop. Yet, we go out for years and have memorable times. My wife drinks no alcohol whatsoever, yet she managed to marry me :P

Mr. Jack Daniels is my poison of choice.

I am also partial to any 20 year old plus good single malt whiskey sometimes when chillaxing at home.

I rarely get drunk. I drink occasionally and only for the joy of the drink. I avoid mass-produced drinks and choose the more refined ones. It is hazardous to health nonetheless, but at least it does not affect my judgement.

We can go party together, I only drink malt beer. But then again, my friends really appreciate it because I always drive.
