In the latest trailer, the characters are seen holding shells, bombs, etc. in their hands, presumably when you hold down the item button, readying them for usage. This would be a huge change from norm, being that items are dragged behind you, as it makes blocking incomming attacks a lot harder. Of course items like triple shells n bananas will likely still be dragged behind ya/circling around you, but singular items wont be. Can't say I'll be very happy with this change if it sticks. =/
