Of course, "best of" type of lists always are based on personal opinion, but there´s something interesting about  Simon Parkin list: it includes games from all types of gaming platforms, phones, PC, consoles, browser games.

That said, the list includes some games that probably are almost unknown among console gaming fans, but may be well known among the casual gaming crowd. Take a look. Have you played some of those games ?

1. Papers Please (PC)

2. The Stanley Parable HD (PC)

3. Super Mario 3D World (Nintendo Wii U)

4. State of Decay (Xbox 360, PC)

5. Pikmin 3 (Nintendo Wii U)

6. Ridiculous Fishing (Apple iOS)

7. Saint’s Row IV (PS3, Xbox 360, PC)

8. Candy Box (Web)

9. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (Nintendo 3DS)

10. Tearaway (PS Vita)

Interesting list! A lot of these are on my wish list.

I like seeing games on that list I wouldn't normally think of. Ie) Pikmin 3 and Tearaway.

Actually this is a good list, these games are rather innovative instead of being "high budget blockbuster" , ala who has the most money wins.

Some great choices, some questionable (especially the #1 and the web games but I've never heard of them so w/e).

Stanley Parable is quite good tho, very fresh different kind of game.

Interesting list.

A well written piece.

So was Tearaway the best?

Okay with that.

LOL. I meant PC, web of smartphone games.. hehe.

Tearaway may have not sold well, but the gaming community is somewhat aware of its existence

now, now... I wonder how many among us played Ridiculous Fishing and Candy Box....
