What would be the point of doing this if all you are going to do is post the findings on the forum?

Given that a lot of us spend significant time on the forum, it would make it a much more enjoyable experience I would pay for.

Yes I know that, but you've got to think of this from a business POV. No one else would subscribe if someone is just going to post all the info every week.

It's kind of like king of the hill, you gotta be the one posting it to get the prize. That is worth money.

You are just talking rubbish now. It doesn't work from a business perspective.

VGChartz Pro has numerous clients as you can see on the Pro page.

As I have explained many times in the past I think the data provided for free on the site is more than reasonable - you can find totals for any game and track the first ten weeks and yearly rolling totals as well - that should be more than enough to satisfy casual interest. Anything beyond that does move into the realm of business use.

People often claim the site/numbers  are biased against Sony, yet they're the only one of the big 3 with an investment in the numbers.

Hah.

Some nice subsribers in there though.

Nielson being the most impressive when you consider what they do for a living.

I would have to say 0 the numbers have not been closely monitored enough for me to warrant paying for info that is always adjusted after a couple weeks.

Even if the numbers are slightly off, it is something to work with.

Because my question to you would be, what would be the alternative? There are few. I can get graphs of japan sales of HW and SW true, but what about other regions?

neogaf for npd and occasionally GFK numbers for Europe.

I am confused. The front page has the HW totals so far, what is so beyond about having a cummulative running total of HW sales in a graph, per region?

Oh I'm not referring to that specifically, just the idea behind VGChartz pro in general. The lack of a cumulative graph for hardware is just an oversight and something I will add to the to-do list.

That's pretty awesome, I'm sure your to-do list is fairly long but class to see this as a reply within the first page of replies, that right there is the reason people come back to this site.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

I still remember when it was said that VGChartz pro wouldnt change the data we get but that was simply not true, anything outside the top 30 is pro only :S

Yes but very limited, specific and always dependant of the good will from random leakers.

Well, we don't really have much choice.

What I want to know is how does vgchartz do adjustments. Do they look at official numbers and then do adjustments?

Thats a good question. The only real source for sale data besides VGChartz and the Japanese sales charts are Nintendo reports afaik.
