“Demand for next generation gaming continues to be very strong,” said John Love, director of video games at Amazon.  “At peak demand, customers were ordering the Xbox One console at over 1000 units per minute on Amazon.com.”

So Xbox sold more at peak according to these numbers. It seems people keep repeating the PS4 thing but nobody has mentioned this Xbox blurb.

At peak, peak could have lasted 1 min.

PS4 sold 12000 in 27 minutes just meh...

cause XB1 selling 1k per minute and 27 minutes will sell 27000... 60 minutes will sell 60000... everyday new stock will be sold out cause i don't think M$ able to supply so much console

so XB1 > PS4 confirm

Exactly what came to my mind.

For all we know with Amazon 1,200 were sold within 1 of those 27 minutes.

Ps4 peaked at 1200 confirmed...and it was unannounced ps4 stock.

This, statistics can say anything you bloody well want them to. Applies to the PS4 numbers as well of course, but at least the wider timeframe makes them more indicative of wider trends (I'll still admit though, it's best to look at console sales over alonger term, i.e. months and weeks if you want to genuinely see which is doing better, even 27mins is hardly much to be going on. Still impressive though)

Also do we have similar figures for iPhones and iPads and other things like that? I'm wondering how impressive these numbers are in the greater scheme of things

Is MS's new PR campaign to look petty and desperate? Because Nelson's recent tweet and this news sure as hell is giving them that image. Warne would be impressed by the spin that MS is dishing out this week.

How much were they selling, once peak was over?
