Well after 5 long years on this site, for the first time ever I got pissed of enough with the level of ads on this site that I installed adblocker.

I even put up with the annoying audio ads you have here. That jsut start blasting and you have no idea what page they on lol.

Normally I support sites and let their ads run all over however when the ads start impacting on home page and forums. Example being the forum page not loading in full and not being able to reply, even changing pages, clearing the cache and doing a hard refresh didn't help.

I know you need to make your money somehow to pay the bills but getting over gready to a point that it impacts functionality of your site is not worth having.

This was the last straw for me. I now move to a new era of ad free borwsing on vgchartz.

Adblock is pretty awesome for the most part.

The ads here are bloody annoying. On the ipad, there is this floating window that prevents me from seeing my reply as I type. And it randomly jumps all over the page, making my already significant headache even worse.

Yep, ads have kinda crippled this website. This is the only website that manages to push my processor to 100%.

you knwo what, since you mentioned this I have just noticed that my laptop doesn't get hot anymore since I disabled the ads.

Awesome, I need to get an ad blocker in hopes of getting Flash to stop crashing.

Flash adverts can be very CPU and/or GPU intensive.
Disabling adverts can save you money by not having your Computer/Tablet/Phone/Whatever other devices work as hard, thus saving on electricity. - If you have a high-end PC, I wouldn't be surprised if we start talking hundreds of watts.

Plus, historically, some viruses, maleware and adware, have travelled via adverts too.
Thankfully all my devices block adverts by default, if forums/websites wan't me to enable it, then they need to make them less intensive and invasive, otherwise it stays enabled.

Over the years, I've been a pretty passive member. I've complained about several adverts on this site attempting to install malicious software, but still resisted installing an adblocker.

But now, when I open the vgchartz.com, I have to hit refresh about 6 or 7 times before the page opens up in a manor that it's functional.

The majority of the time, there is an advert that covers 80% of the forum links on the right side of the page. Some times it only opens the top banner and ad. Some times it doesn't load any of the forum links at all. And then when it does finally load, it starts screaming at me with audio adverts that I can't mute. (I tend to watch Netflix when browsing, so I can't mute my computer.)

I have now installed an AdBlocker for the first time ever.. CONGRATS VGCHARTZ!

The entire page now loads at lightning speed every single time without failure!

I would love to support you guys, but when the website is non-functional and annoying, what else can I do?
