It's similar to the Wii U. Every unit is being sold but it still feels sluggish. It'll definitely have a huge post Christmas drop off but that's to be expected. Hard to guess if it'll drop to Wii U numbers or not though.

For the sake of predictions, I'm in the "doom" camp at least until Titanfall arrives.

No, cause the Wii U didn't sell out (mostly) and only sold 426k in Nov 12 NPD

XBO sold 909k and IS sold out (in the USA where I live anyway).

Now, it seems like PS4 is being snapped up much faster, but, it IS 399. If they were evenly priced I'm not sure how it would go.

Anyway it's silly to call X1 doomed because it's selling like gangbusters. That simple. Maybe less than PS4, but still spectacular sales, especially at $500.

For the past day or two bestbuy has had every bundle in stock online. We also have lots of reports saying stores have units. All of these systems are being sold way before new shipments arrive though and we know the majority of places are sold out. It's sold out for all intents and purposes. This is very similar to the wii u launch which regardless of what you think also sold out. Go back and read the threads from its launch. I've been doing this and it's the same situation as the XBONE. Supply seems to be favoring XBONE by about 30% last I checked which is a plus, but it still seems to have the same "slugish" sell through.

Just looking at US numbers it's pretty unlikely to drop down to the wii u in Jan. but globally it seems reasonable. As I stated it's just a fools prediction right now as it could easily go either way. I guessed it'd go south since it is $500 like you mentioned and right now the core unbiased buyer has no reason to spend the extra money. As I mentioned titanfall can change that.

Once Halo comes out and a price cut it will sell far better than PS4 in the USA

Ahahahahha

no

Because PS4 will also get a pricecut and BUNGIE's Destiny will be marketed as a PS4 game

Destiny is the next big thing.

Sony isn't cutting the price for the PS4 for at least 2 years. You are crazy if you think they will cut it next year. Destiny is online only. It will automatically cut its sales in half because of that. According to the mass outrage over Microsoft's policies I thought Playstation owners wanted to be able to play offline.

And Titanfall isnt always online? Atleast you can play Destiny solo, atleast Destiny has a storymode unlike Titanfall.

As far as I can tell, there is ZERO hype for destiny so far.

The next big thing will be Titanfall.

From leaked documents last year when Destiny was still a xbox exclusive the marketing was supposed to be 140 million usd, with Sony backing the game now imagine how big it is now. Titanfall wont touch it.  There may be zero hype for Destiny right now but the game is coming out in 10 months while Titanfall is coming out in 3. Sales of Titanfall will be limited due to not being on the biggest next gen platform next year.

True, not launching titanfall on the Wii U is such a bold move.

If Xbox One has horrible sales then MS will give the Xbox 1 a price cut and they will do everything in their power to bring sales up. So we could see a version without the kinect.

I hate being drawn into these kinds of discussions because I (like many others) am tired of the console fanboy wars but here's my two cents...

Sony has no exclusives next year that can go toe-to-toe against Titanfall and Halo 5.  I mean you know it's bad when the guys that used to make exclusive lists and say multiplatform games don't really matter are playing up Destiny of all games.  The truth is that Sony fanboys can't wait for E3 2014 because deep down they know it's the case and they're hoping Sony will produce a AAA game out of thin air that can go against those two titans.

As for Xbox One is doomed just let that last paragraph sink in for a minute.  Xbox One will have two of the biggest next gen console exclusives (if not *the* two biggest next gen console exclusives) coming out next year.  In my opinion it's Sony that has blown its load too early by putting games like Gran Turismo 6 (a disaster considering its sales compared to Gran Turismo 5) and The Last of Us along with other exclusives on PS3.

I'm sure someone will want to show a list of PS4 exclusives that is basically almost all indie games but lets get real, it's extremely unlikely any of them will be a Minecraft and if indie games really moved hardware then the Vita wouldn't be the sales disaster that it is.  Add to that the fact that Microsoft's Indie program will be getting up to speed so there goes another advantage the PS4 will have had.

Speaking of lost advantage there's Microsoft's competing service to PS+ that will be debuting next year.  It seems like one advantage after another is disappearing for the PS4 and 2014 looks to be no different in that regard .  If anything it's Xbox One that will continue to be on the rise after a disasterous pre launch and PS4 which is coasting on Microsoft's mistakes that are rapidly being corrected.

Wait until the end of next year after Titanfall and Halo 5 (and all the other exclusives) are out their own instant game service had debuted before passing judgment on the Xbox One.  Sony fanboys should also pray that Microsoft doesn't throw in a price drop as well for shits and giggles because then the shit will have gotten real and PS4 might just become Xbox One's bitch.

It's selling incredibly good. I don't think there's nothing to be worried about.
There are some good exclusive games which will come out, such as Halo and Gears, so the future is bright.

Probably it won't sell as well as PS4, but I wouldn't call a win for Sony now. Anything can change.

Titanfall looks like the next COD, Destiny looks like the nice Halo. From what i have seen i am sure that destiny will be the supeior game when it comes to features, but it will not do as well as titanfall. It's gunmechanics, gameplay, gunsounds are so bland and unexciting while all the hype titanfall has revolves around its gameplay department.

I say that like the Wii U at it's launch, the Xbone is selling purelly on hype, and in this case, the main sales driver is the thirsty hardcore dudebro who can't wait to play CoD with the same graphical fidelity like he has seen in 2009 in PC's.

Coming this Januray, the engine will run out of steam, and blockbuster games. So Microsoft will find themselves with an expensive box no one cares. PlayStation is cool again, so they are saved.

In this thread, we separate the Xbone doom callers, from the oblivious believers. Crow will be served in 2 months and a half, anyway the thread goes. Should be entertaining.

Who knows and it really won't matter. Both systems will sell very well and the 360 was a big time seller, so I suspect that the XB1 will do well.  But let me add one thing with your 2009 PC remark; I built my rig in late 2009 (just in time for Dragon Age: Origins) and neither the PS4 or the Xbox One can touch its graphics power still. I can run Skyrim modded with over 60 plugins along with complete environment and building mods at 4K textures, and still hit 60FPS without a burp. Aside from your fanboyish want for a system to fail, I don't see the point in wanting that, as it doesn't serve either console makers purpose and especailly the gamer/consumer for competition.

About exclusives I believe Sony is trying a wiser approach, just like Microsoft did during last generation.

Sony won't push all their exclusives out as fast as they can, but they will rely on multiplaform games, as Assassin's Creed and Call of Duty. We don't have to forget that maybe Uncharted 4 will come out next winter, so I believe that's a big exclusive. Not as big as Halo, but bigger that Titanfall.

I don't see Xbox One in a bad position, but not in as good as you think.
