And i still say that Nintendo may regret publishing it.

And I still disagree, as I'm sure it was always a purchase based on image, not any expectations of it selling multi-millions.

I don't disagree with that, but it was made at a time where it was all suposed to pull in a certain demographic and 3rd party support, a scheme that hasn't really worked out for them.

The third party support ship may have sailed for Wii U, but that makes Bayo 2 even more valuable as a complement to their existing lineup that offers something Nintendo's own games don't and doesn't tie up one of their internal teams.

Yet, when we see the sales it may turn out the money could have been spent better elsewhere. It obviously didn't do much to make them freinds in the desired demographic.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

At the very least it has enabled good relations with a decent developer PlatinumGames, and it solidifies future releases from PlatinumGames that can help the console. I don't think Nintendo can get third party publishers and developers on their side in a day, but if they keep showing interests in projects like this, in the long-term, it'll benefit them with such publishers and developers.

Regardless of who is funding the game, it'll flop if it stays a Wii U exclusive. Just stating facts here. That audience just isn't on the Wii U D:

There's that "if" again.

It will stay exclusive. There's nothing to do about it.

They're actually stupid gamers, who don't deserve their title. It's all business stuff, Nintendo funding the project, it's like asking The Pokemon Company to release X and Y on the Vita!

Sure, but some of these projects will have to pay off eventually. And right now it just doesn't seem that way.

I don't get why the fanbase doesn't realize that this game wouldn't even exist without Nintendo. Yes it sucks to all the X360/PS3 Bayonetta fans that don't own the WiiU, but it's either this or nothing.

If they truly cared that much about the game, they'd buy a Wii U to play it. That's pretty much the bottom line. They should be thankful it's being made at all, thanks to Nintendo footing the bill.

I don't think anyone involved cares about whether it flops or not. The developers have their paychecks and are happy that they could make it. Nintendo will sell a few more consoles and the buyers will be happy about another cool game for the WiiU. The Only people who care if it will flop are the ones that will not get the game anyway and are butthurt about it.

The problem is that Final Fantasy is a unique case of a famous NES/SNES-franchise switching sides and staying exclusive.

Mainline?

It contradics the above statement, my objection is valid :p and btw I would gladly have a Bayonetta spinoff on PS4

I should've worded that better with FF-mainline. I agree a Bayonetta-spinoff for PS or XBOX would be nice. But who will fund that, as the fans on PS360 already, that they don't support such a game sufficiently.

Not that the situation will be better on WiiU, but Nintendo funded it anyways, so Nintendos loss, WiiU-gamers win.

the fans should be begging for a pimped bayonetta 1 port to the wii u, thats a possible game. its not an buyed exklusiv, sega and nintendo are close, if bayonetta 2 dont totaly bomb it realy could happen.

Seems possible. PG is a small dev, did they ever had more than two or maybe three games announced at once? Development on the next game surely has started after finishing W101, maybe even earlier. i don't expect to hear from that for some months. Will be interesting though: What for a game will it be? Who will publish it? Which platforms it is aimed at?

That could say a lot about PGs future.

Yeah, cuz the first one really lit up the charts on the other consoles....  I guess that means the audience just isn't anywhere.
