Forums - Gaming - When people talk about mobile gaming...

Majority of the matrphone gamers are peoples who never play games before on consoles but console gamers would stay on their consoles i find hard to believe peoples who plays games like God of war and Call of duty will stop playing those games and switch the Angry bird.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Switch? Hardly, I think this is a common misconception, but a whole lot of people play both. Especially teens game simpler fare on their tablets/phones as well as Call of Duty and Need for Speed. We used to have DVD kits for cars with screens for the headrest to keep the kids occupied, but now they're riding in the back seat, staring into the small screen of phones and tablets. I work at a treatment home for teens, boys only. They have regular computer hours every day and they always play Counterstrike: GO, Call of Duty, or some otther shooter game and sometimes we drive them to a huge internet cafe on weekends. Every single ride they take, they're playing simple and somewhat stupid games on their phones.

It's like they're obsessed with clicking on something and interacting with something the whole damn day. Look at people in coffee shops and McDonald's, what are they doing? On the bus or the train? Aboard airplanes? They sit with their phones and tablets and a lot of them play simple games on them. Many of them also play on consoles or PC's when they're at home, these aren't all completely separate groups.

But, I get what you're saying though. For adult gamers, I think the interest in mobile games is very close to zero and I do think that the majority of mobile "gamers" aren't interested in other forms of gaming as a rule. No one is going to switch from consoles and PC's to mobile only though, that's unheard of. Dedicated handhelds are a different story though, especially with the increasingly powerful hardware in phones/tablets, selection of more intricate games and the obvious advantage of having a multitasking machine is enough to be alluring to quite a few handheld gamers.

That is what i think but many peoples thinks console will be dead because of smartphone and tablets.

Personally i think there is a new generation growing up on tablets and smartphone games who will be satisfied by them and won't take the jump to console gaming later on. And also an older generation like myself, who don't have the time anymore to spend a lot of time playing games but can play in quick short bursts on their smartphones..

I think mobile gaming is chipping away from the top and bottom of gamers, but there is still a large group of console gamers in the middle who won't be affected in the short term.. But i do think that group will shrink over the years..

And lets not forget about the women; Console gaming is ignoring this group for years, it had a chance with the wii but it didn't push on and mobile gaming together with browser games picked them up..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Now you people talk about shitty games like Hillclimb Racing. What about Angry Birds GO? That looks pretty good. Oceanhorn, Dead Trigger series, Infinity Blade series, Dungeon Hunter series and Order And Chaos Online. What about those games?

When people talk about mobile gaming, why does everybody keep talking about phones? I think mobile games (especially high graphic games) are best at tablets.

Because tablets aren't as mobile as phones.

This might simply be because mobile games are played on phones??!! I mean how can you not talk about phones when you are a mobile gamer anyway? Nowadays, the best games work better on the most recent smartphones and some titles are launched only on specific mobile platforms. It might just be useful to talk phones while dealing with games!
