Do you live on the same planet as us?I mean come one ,,give credit where it's due,,,PS3 did not have a weak holiday season

I think I do, yes. Not sure about your home planet, though

I was solely talking about America where the Playstation 3 was by far the worst selling home console. I won´t give it "credit" there. But I will give it credit in Europe where I expect it to sell very well and my Japan predictions for the system are also much higher than some would think.

Why do people always think I´m bashing this system?

oh no,,I thought you were talking about worldwide,,,well in NA it came in third if I m not mistaken,so your point makes sense now

"Playstation 3: I know many PS3 fans have been waiting for higher numbers but after such a weak Christmas seasion it is doubtful that Playstation 3 sales suddenly picked up that much without the release of any big games for it and the price cut months ago."

Yeah, NPD is not accurate. No way that damn dirty Playstation can sell that close to the Wii. Sony droping out of the console market=confirmed! Time to celebrate with Gamer Girl.

that´s great. You say something negative about any console and people will try to kill you.

Hell, why do you think I want the Playstation 3 to sell bad, tell me? You sure read my editorial on the frontpage where I said the Playstation 3 would sell great in Europe, did you? You sure read my post where I stated the DS sales would fall pretty hard in Japan in 2008 at a time it was selling above 100k units there each week?

The same goes for Rukusa, don´t be so childish guys.

Until this is cleared up I will consider NPD the data that will have impact i.e. in the undustry it is the official numbers. Developers will look at those numbers, MS and Sony will comment on them... from the industry point of view they are the official numbers, not this site.

Now this site is great, and may even be more accurate, but until adjustments or clarity is given I will be taking NPD numbers over this site as they are the numbers the industry will react to (go see all the posts everywhere already) not the numbers on this site.

Right now so far as the industry is concerned PS3 took January over 360 in US and are wondering about impact. MS are responding, etc. but they're all responding as though the numbers are correct because that's how it works.

For the record I'm sure that PS3 is getting a BR boost and if Toshiba formally wave the white flag that boost will increase (how much it is there's too little data to tell, but I'm sure its there).

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

If their numbers are closer to actual sales then they would be more accurate

[quote]NPD is the best that we have, not the "best". The "best" is a relative term.

So Im still asking, what makes you sure 100% confident that the Vgchartz is more credible than the NPD. Right now youre just laying out your personal opinion and prefering VGchartz over the NPD. Why?

Im quite curious.

Ah, I never said I was 100% confident of VGC numbers, just that I trust them more, as they have more transparency of their figures, plus the fact that they were more accurate than NPD in december, as a result I am more trusting of what they say than what NPD says, now if it turns out that NPD is right, then so be it, ioi will probably adjust based on the new data, but if VGC is right, you'll never get a peep out of NPD

-"Ah, I never said I was 100% confident of VGC numbers"

youre displaying a high confidence in them through your action however.

-"just that I trust them more, as they have more transparency of their figures, plus the fact that they were more accurate than NPD in december"

Aha, you trust them more. Doesn't prove that VGChartz's figures bare more water than the NPD's calculations. You have to lay some more substancial than trust.

And how do you know they were more accurate in December?

-" but if VGC is right, you'll never get a peep out of NPD"

I cant see how you should be able to know this.

Nintendo & Sony supporter:

 Consoles: Wii & PS3.

God A_T. If you say that they're wrong in Dec. again, you'll have used that excuse more than your "supply constraint" excuse. You do the same thing, anytime you don't want to believe something. You sit there, and use one excuse to death. over and over again. So just stop posting if you're going to use that whole "enpeedee wUz wr0Ng n dsimber" excuse.

The most hopeless Sony fanboys come from Lithuania and Denmark.

When has NPD issued a retraction on their numbers?

When Nintendo financials came out, the disparity between Nintendo shipped figures to NA and NPD data plus canada, showed that VGC was closer

why do I have to lay something more substantial  than trust to say that I am suspicious about NPD figures?
