 Not really, I don't pay attention to PS3/360 sales as much, but the fact they were wrong for Wii in December, opens up the possibility that they are wrong for DS this month as its the biggest deviation from VGC figures

 Did I say NPD is wrong for Janurary? nope, I said they've been wrong in the past and that I am suspicious of the accuracy of Janurary numbers, they may be right, but considering they have been wrong so recently, I question whether they are right at the moment.

 

On the other hand I am more trusting of VGC numbers because unlike NPD VGC has shown a willingness to admit to mistakes and change data to reflect new data  to support my bias.

 

I mean in a few days we might find that ioi was wrong, in which case he'll adjust, but if NPD is wrong and VGC was right, they will never admit it and never change their data, and yet somehow NPD is the best?

NPD is the best that we have, not the "best".  The "best" is a relative term.

It's fine.  I've argued with you (many a time) before, and I know that you'll never come out and say that you are wrong, unlike me.  If I am wrong in saying something, I really don't give a f--k, it's noto that serioius... but you, you will never come out and say that you are wrong.  And it's sad, because you look like someone who just can't handle the truth.

Come on people. Stop making this a fanboy war now, really!

The question is did VGchartz undertrack the Playstation 3 and overtrack the DS by this huge amount?


Well, first of all: DS. This one seems to be huge of by one of the trackers but I´d question the reliability of NPD beacuse of some facts: NPD had the DS lower than VGchartz in December but Nintendos shipment reports pretty much confirmed our numbers. Additionally if NPD reports lower December numbers and a sold-out DS in January...where did those units go that should´ve been in stock if NPD was right for December? And why should Nintendo face shortages in the US when Japan numbers have been down massively from last year?
You see, this is questionable.

Xbox 360: It is quite possible the Xbox 360 saw shortages in January and sold less than VGchartz reported therefore but whoever was interviewed from Microsoft said their channel was "slowly running empty" and he said that in February. Why didn´t Microsoft comment on those shortages in January?

Playstation 3: I know many PS3 fans have been waiting for higher numbers but after such a weak Christmas seasion it is doubtful that Playstation 3 sales suddenly picked up that much without the release of any big games for it and the price cut months ago.

I do not believe those NPD numbers not because of being a fan of a certain console but because they do not seem logical at all. And yes I really mean that.

No that's not true, as I was wrong last week about Wii shipments to Japan, and DS sales in japan, and I admitted when I was wrong, I do't have a problem with admitting anything, however you have not shwon how I am wrong, as I said, I am not saying that NPD is wrong, just that I trust VGC more, and given reasons why, but I notice you fail to address those points instead you try and make this personal I feel sorry for you, that you need to resort to personal attacks when your arguments fail

 Edit: I agree, though I should´ve written I doubt those numbers and not I don´t believe NPD - I guess real numbers are somewhere between VGchartz and NPD but as of now I don´t think NPD is more accurate this time.
