What's wrong with saying the thruth?

Nothing. But i don't expect you to like discussing the bad sales WiiU is experiencing even though it's the truth.

You're not familiar with Pavolink, are you?

I really hate to be a killjoy but it's just one week. A week with the holiday boost and a new Dragon Quest. I would hope the hardware sales go up because of that.

Not "just one week" and not a new dragon quest.

Okay it's not a "new" Dragon Guest but it's still a Dragon Quest. One of the biggest franchises in Japan, of course it's going to give some type of bump. And what do you mean by "not just one week"? Are you saying it's going to sell 48k+ every week?

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

You're right, how dare I offer a contrasting opinion on a sales site. We shouldn't discuss anything here! Let's all just blindly follow one opinion, that totally makes sense.

The thig is that it's not just one week.  It's been a steady progression for several weeks.  It's also receiving a far higher boost from the holiday and games than are the other consoles.

Why is that not worthy of note to you?

Where this about your console of allegience, would you not feel compelled to enjoy the moment?  Or would you equally display rejection on principle?

WiiU will have a decent Xmas. It will be back to doom status after new year when Xmas shoppers are back home.

Yeah, unfortunately the doom of Vita will never catch a break... It's been doomed for a year, is still doomed during holidays and will return to being doomed after the holidays... that's sad.

Vita has more 3rd party titles scheduled for 2014 than any other system in Japan, it can't die. WiiU has only one (Watchdogs, which is not going to help)

Well, I hardly think gaemz will save the Vita at this point; it has plenty of gaemz as it is, they're just not selling.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

I'm not saying it's not worthy of note, it's clearly a good thing. And I'm happy the WiiU is finding some success after a miserable last few months. I just don't think people should be celebrating just yet, this doesn't prove that the WiiU is going to become a success in Japan. What if it starts dropping down to 3k unitswhen the holidays are over? I think we should wait and see how the WiiU stabilizes after the holidays are over. If it's still doing well then we'll throw a party for it.

If you really hate to be a killjoy, then don't do it. This website will still function just fine, the world will keep turning, and the Wii U will still sell poorly even if you don't piss on the parade. So feel free to just let things like this go if you hate commenting negatively on it so much.

Ofcourse, in the off chance that you don't really hate being a killjoy at all, maybe even somehow secretly takes some pleasure in pointing out negative aspects of positive Wii U news, then by all means: Carry on!

You must have missed the bolded? I don't care what you post about, but I also reserve the right to call out disingenuous BS when I see it. You don't really hate being a killjoy at all, if you did, you wouldn't be one. If you feel that it's important to point out why these sales are nothing to be excited about, just do it. Don't pretend that you really don't like to and weasel in your little jabs sideways.

OT: Good news for the Wii U. My theory has always been that the Wii U will have to rely heavily on word of mouth since some of the best features of the system are only apparent when you have it in your hand. I think as the installbase grows, momentum will have a chance to continue to build.

I must be a massive fanboy sitting here cackling with glee over the WiiU's misfortunes. As I drink my wine and stroke my cat. Lmao, chill out dude. So I'm not as excited over the WiiU's one week improvement as everyone else. You're getting upset over a slightly negative comment I expressed about the WiiU's sales.

I am not upset over anything. I pointed out particularily cowardly wording in your post. Why? Maybe I take the same joy in pointing out faulty and dishonest thinking on the internet as you do in pointing out misplaced joy in console sales numbers?

I would also like to add that you will be more successful understanding what a post is about if you stop projecting your own assumptions on to what other people say.

Anyway, back on topic: It will be interesting to see what direction the numbers take next week. It's a little hard to see exactly why the numbers are this strong this week.

And indeed we will keep an eye for how things pan out for the rest of the year and beyond.  We know we need to keep a watch on it.  You can be damn certain the negative fanboys will be.

But why in the world is it wrong to make note of the fact that Wii U was 8 weeks ago selling between 3k and 5k and after some good bundles, a few games and the beginning of the holiday period that it's had a nice progression from abysmal to respectable?

Nobody is breaking out the champaign claiming the Wii U is now a success.  It's merely an observation of the current trend of the past 8 weeks.  And the trend is very positive.   What arbitrary point must be passed before an observational trend can be commented upon?  Must we ignore all positive aspects (sales increases, proportionality of total home console sales, rate of increase by comparison, etc...) until that arbitrary time frame?

And what then?  Say it maintains until that arbitrary limit.  Will a new arbitrary limit be demanded?  Must we wait until then for some other confirmation of positve trends?

Negative Wii U threads are thrown around mutliple times every day but as soon as a positive Wii U thread is made, suddenly, it has requirements and conditions and isn't worthy of note by many of those very same people that toss out the negative threads while claiming their just being real.

I'm tired of negative fanboys shitting all over the streets of Wii U every day and then raining on the Wii U parade when it comes around once every few months.
