Forums - Gaming - Do you like DLC or not?

for the most part by the time it comes out I'm done with that game, unless it comes out early then it's bullsh!t that should've been included in the first place

DLC was great when it was just mappacks or cosmetics. When it becomes pay to win i have an issue which it seem now many games are adoupting

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Depends on the DLC, it's like asking whether or not I like video games.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

It's getting really annoying that you are supposed to buy DLC on the very day the game releases. They call it Season Pass or whatever and you're often supposed to pay 50 $ without even knowing what you gonna get for it. For the full experience of Battlefield, you have to pay 120 $ - for one game! It's ridiculous. Without that premium shit, you always get those damn messages like "you don't have mappack #245, you can't play here" or something. the quick game function becomes pretty much useless with time.

I'm trying to think of good DLC, but I don't know if I've ever seen such a thing. Most of the time, it's just some rushed shit or something jsut taken straight out of the game. I kinda like the costumes for Dead or Alive 5 (you know why!) but the prices are just insane. Who pays 2 $ for a freking digital costume?!

For a good DLC, I would expect something that equals expansion packs for PC games which were pretty popular in the 90s. Like Oppsing Force for Half-Life or something. A new Story Line, a true expansion of the game. But something like that is very rare nowadays.

NO! Because 90% of the time, the DLC is a content that was supposed to be included in the disc, but was cut off to make extra money. And who doesn't hate those stupid "Weapons pack", "Cars pack", "Character pack", Costumes/Skins pack" DLC? Remember when that was rewarded for finishing the game or doing certain things?

Campaign DLC........ YES. Left 4 Dead with stuff like the sacrifice. or gears 3 with RAAMS shadow.

Online DLC..... NO. (extra maps for online combat seems way too lazy for me)

This topic is highly subjective....
Some DLC has been incredible *couch* Super Luigi U *cough*
while others are simply content which should have been included within the release of the game.

DLC is a fantastic thing, when done properly. It can keep games fresh and add whole new experiences to the game.
I think user generated content for games will be the next big step in gaming, and will remove all need for small DLC releases, and Steam workshop is leading the way in this.

Current Game Machines: 3DS, Wii U, PC.

Currently Playing: X-Com(PC), Smash Bros(WiiU), Banner Saga(PC), Guild Wars 2(PC), Project X Zone(3DS), Luigis Mansion 2(3DS), DayZ(PC)

It depends. I'm a fan of the expansion packs that we used to get, like Tiberian Sun: Firestorm, but not of charging $1-$2 for an alternate character costume.

New Super Luigi U and Farcry 3: Blood Dragon come to mind of recent DLC that was actually value for money.

Depends, traditional DLC/Expansion packs, fine. Anything that is released close to the actual game release, is preplanned to the point that they tell everyone before the game is released, takes away from the experience or is stupidly overpriced (sometimes in total all DLC costs more than the main game), these are all stupid things and should stop.

The only DLC I've ever bought has been in Ultimate/GOTY collections for certain games, and this is the first instance of the game I bought. I just cannot bring myself to buy most DLC because of it's price/value for money.

Hmm, pie.

Yes. Pikmin 3 DLCs for wii u

Zelda - Breath of the Wild for Nintendo Switch.... Incredable!!!
