That's very very very minor DRM. Also, a large percentage of the playerbase I believe, certainly me, couldn't care less about the camera in game

Yup. You are right. Its a minor DRM and thats why they got over it.

I'm okay with minor things like that where its purpose is for you to share content with friends. Just so long as it doesn't grow any larger like it clearly has here

This is the problem with these "persistent/shared world shooters" like Destiny and the Division. You can basically play them like a single player game, but they are all online only.

Just to confirm (as I will probably buy GTAV at some point) can I still play GTAV without having an internet connection (just minus the camera function, and obviously online MP)

rediculous.

Yeah. It's a great game!

Not that I was planning to get this game or anything, but that's really low.

As always, I hope it fails and the game bombs hard because of it. Company's need to pay for stuff like this.

Welcometh to next gen!

If this is next-gen, and gens after that, the WiiU will be the last gaming console I have bought.

Nintendo won't be part of that so don't worry about it

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Question, If you bought this game for someone who doesn't have access to the internet and they get it day one and stick it in the ps4 unpatched... they'd be able to play all the game modes offline right? since it wouldn't see that there was an update at all?
Just a tad worried about it as a gift, would make for a shitty Christmas present.

And yeah completely agree with everyone here who says it's bullshit to throw this in after the first week or 2 of sales, 2k and Take two as a whole should be told off for this in a big way by anyone who is a fan of gaming, do it the way we know how and the only way we can. Tell them fuck off with your wallets. (christ did I just recommend their rivals EA.... I might have just made a pact with Satan.)

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

And "everyone" thought EA was the company asking Microsoft and Sony to implement this stuff for the console with Microsoft really doing it. Seems like Take 2 was the company lol.

What I wonder as well as got it as a gift for someone as well and know they do not have internet either.

This needs to be punished.  Microsoft was bad enough mentioning it, this back door sneaky after the fact way is even worse way to employ this practice. I hope their emails and twitters and what have you are barraged by angry consumers.

you can return the game if they patch something like that into it. So no probs

but how come I can play nba 2k14 offline right now? PSN is down, and I am playing my career..

Thanks (and to pezus too) I also wouldn't call that DRM at all, it's just a feature that requires online. Of course I don't think it would have been difficult at all to have the selfie feature store images to the console, but it's obviously there to entice people to go online (not force people to check in as is the case with many forms of online DRM)
