The whole show was a colossal bore.

But, it was announced before the VGX...
At least... I knew about it before that. xD
As for my answer to the OP: Nothing. I feel I knew everything already, and the few bits I didn't know, it didn't interest me. Most of what was shown as "world premieres" were nothing but jokes. 3 seconds of gameplay footage, supposedly awesome according to Geoff, from games that were already announced, and had already been shown...
It seems to me that this year could be the worst VGA in history so far.
Next VGA, we'll have exclusive footage from games we've already seen a few trailers of, but in those "world premieres", they'll reveal all the useless details of the ammuniation that your mech will use, How long it takes for the in-game fictional industry to manufacture them, and they'll reveal the eye color of the main character. -__-
it may have been small imo (not according to twitter) but on second thought i'm considering DKTF as a serious purchase now. I played and beat DKCR and thought it was too easy. But Cranky is kinda appealing. I feel like such a fanboy right now...

What was your favorite announcement? |
How was Cranky Kong news? This is something we have known since the leak of the box art. There's already been a few threads about it long before the VGX Awards.
So it was a massive disappointment at least for me.

Honestly, I probably would give it to No Man's Sky. It didn't have the highest budget, but it was impressive, and the designer was really excited about it. That's content I like to see, even if it's not my taste.
Biggest? I don't care.
Most interesting to me personally? Telltale's Borderlands game. Very happy to see Handsome Jack once more. It makes me think of those audio logs you find of how he took over the Hyperion corporation and how utterly nuts he was.

No Man's Sky. A procedurally generated persistent universe about exploration with seamless transitions from down underwater all the way into space created by a whole four people. If you haven't seen the video yet I suggest watching it. This is the kind of stuff people talk about when referring to Indie developers pushing the industry. Did I mention it's being done by only four people?

I thought DKCR was the most difficult one yet. But it is very genrous with lives... anyone with platforming skill can beat the game with persistence.
