Seriously. I mean...what else is it? Because I know it's not cogent market analysis.
The Vita is getting curbstomped by the 3DS in a diminishing market for dedicated handhelds. Yet no one is saying that Sony needs to focus on smartphone games instead, despite the fact that Sony actually makes tablets and smartphones too. In fact, the Vita has the most cultish following I've ever seen for a gaming platform. I love mine and still find it kind of creepy TBH.
It makes no sense to me at all.
i always find it hilarious how people keep saying Nintendo makes "kiddie games", yet they want them to go 3rd party so they can play those games XD
Well the average person only buys 1 console a Generation because thats all they can afford. So if they like exclusives from another company they'll usually say " should go all mobile so I can play their games too". I dont think it's a bad thing people want Nintendo to be mobile, it shows a lot of people still have a lot of interest in the company; probably why the 3DS is so big, people can have Nintendo exclusives without having to buy a home console for it (at least from what I hear from more casual gamers that own a 3DS)

I don't really even see how developing mobile games would hurt them. It's not like Nintendo doesn't make spin-off games quite often. A spin-off Pokemon title for phones would only increase the user-base, for example. A Pokemon Snap would be wildly popular. They could even use lesser franchises instead, like Kirby or Star Fox (!). One of Nintendo's failings is that they often resist new trends until the market forces them, like an account system or a fully-formed internet infrastructure. At least they're getting into mobile somewhat with that Pokemon Tap app. |
So are you saying that, sooner or later, all of the big three would have to make a transition over to the mobile market? Considering mobile gaming being a "new trend" and how MS/Sony are always keen on getting to the new trends first.

They don't want to play Nintendo games. They know Nintendo going third party is the same thing as Nintendo giving the white flag in the console war.

Actually, I can't even speak for myself =/ I've got Uncharted 1-2 sitting on my shelf and I wanna plat TLOU pretty badly... so yeah... I'm even moderatly interested in a few MS games, namely Fable (although that series has been going down in quality) and Age of Empires.
I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!
Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

and because sony/microsoft hardware >>>>>> nintendo hardware. Everybody wants to play nintendo games, they just want to do it on a console that knows what multitasking and graphic card means.

Nuh uh, as Nintendo is the only company that specializes in hand-held games. Outside Japan Studio, I think most of the Sony studios only have to make a hand-held game if they've pissed Yoshida-san off somehow. It's like the developer version of being forced to peel potatoes in the army.
