Here's a few things that should help offset people.

If you give up 1 Carton of Cigarettes, you can afford Playstation Plus

3 cases of beer, you can afford Playstation Plus

Skip 2 movies with a girl, you can afford Playstation Plus

Cook home meals versus going out to eat 5 times, you can afford Playstation Plus

Wait a month after release to buy 5 games(2 if EA)  you can afford Playstation Plus

Skip going to the bar 1-3 nights, you can afford Playstation Plus

If none of these scenarios apply to said people, you have a legitimate gripe for not owning Playstation Plus, besides the forced online for Non-Freetoplay games.   I am also hoping that when Subscription based games come out, you won't need Plus either.

The Playstation 4 also comes with a free Month to Playstation Plus, if you currently do NOT own a subscription, if you do, sell/give it to a friend.   You also get $10 to spend in the store.

Not sure yet. I didn't have ps plus during the ps3 era, but now I do for the ps4 since you need it for online now. I got resogun and contrast so thats cool I guess. I wonder if the list of ps plus games for ps4 will be anything besides indies the first one or two years though.

Steam does offer much better deals on games, especially if you can wait a few months.

However, like Playstation Plus, you are renting the games.   I personally love Steam, don't care about that, and feel they are going to last for decades if not forever.   I also like that you can have it tied to up to 5 computers, much like iTunes, so if I am on my Desktop at home, my Laptop at home or on the go, and one day, on my Surface Pro 2 512GB, I have plenty of devices to play my games on.    The saves also carry over, the chat system is awesome, and I like that they have an achievement system on 95% of their games.   Keeps the replay value up.

I will never bash Playstation Plus, Amazon Prime, or Steam.   Playstation Plus will give you free games, with some discounts, but if you can hold out, you will get games cheaper overall on Steam.    The advantage of Steam is, other than the games, you pay ZERO for the subscription, and there are some free to play games as well.

I love my iPad, in fact two of the games I have made about $3,000 on Youtube from, were both Free to Play, The Simpsons Tapped Out and Injustice Gods Among Us.   More?   Candy Crush Saga, Clash of Clans, Tetris Blitz, Plants vs Zombies 2, and I got Dead Space and Infinity Blade 2 for free.

iOS is another service, alongside Steam, Amazon Prime, and Playstation Plus, I will never bash.   Flixster is amazing as well, especially since on iOS devices, you can download your Ultraviolet Digital copies and watch them anywhere with NO internet connection.

They gave Resogun free, usually you get a couple mediocre titles, with a great title thrown in once in a while.

Early on Playstation Plus, they gave away a bunch of Avatar's, Dynamic Themes(Some of which holiday related), Mini's, and Playstation 1 games.   Now the focus is mostly on Playstation 3, Playstation Vita, and occasionally a PSP game, so they have definatly stepped up their service now that there are 20+ games a month for at least another 2 years.

Pretty sure Driveclub was supposed to be free for Plus members until it got delayed.   Honestly if Resogun wasen't free I would've used my free $10 towards that game.

It's not like i rental service. I have some games installed for several years now wich i downloaded with Plus and they still work.

Wow, forgot all about driveclub since its delay. I thinks it's only a demo like version though. Still not bad since I heard you can upgrade to the full game for a discounted price. Ya, resogun is really good, contrast is ok I guess.

aaaand you're just selling me on getting a year subscription. too many good features to not sign up for this.
