Most of the people complaining about the cost of PSN/+ are not PS gamers...

I guess that most of the people complaining about paying for Xbox Live Gold weren't Xbox gamers either xD

Valid point. I said I wouldn't get Xbox live and I was not a customer. I would add that Sony gave me an option to play online for free or upgrade to their rental service later, while Microsoft wanted to charge me for the online experience first and see if I saw value in it later. Not something I was willing to do at the time. I still don't understand why internet applications are behind a paywall.

I also mention shooters because that's the impression that I got from it. It may be wrong, but its JRPG collection was lacking compared to the competition. so I chose Sony, though I could have gone Wii, but SDTV made me rethink it because I game on my computer monitor.

I don't consider myself a Sony Fanboy, and truely wish success for the WIIU & the Xbox One because competition really benefits the consumer. If Sony can no longer provide what I'm looking for, I would like to think I move to a competitor that does.

And I find your views about Xbox Live good too. If people don't like a service, no one should force them to pay it to try it (though they used to give those 48-hours trial, not anymore). However, I was just pointing out that misconception about the "shooterbox". Sure, throughout the years Ps3 managed to have a more solid - in quantity - library of JRPGs, but 360 had some of those too. It has racing games. WRPGs. Adventure games. What I'm trying to say is that the 360 is not a shooter-only console. In fact, I'd say there are more shooter franchises on ps3 than on 360.

Your choice of buying a Ps3, that I respect :)

Okay? So keeping more for less.

I could care less.

I watch entire season of European soccer leagues on ESPN app. Saves me alot on cable subs.

Plus watch and  catch up on some Anime.

If you find value then that is great. Doesn't make any of this a double standard though since it is an entirely different landscape than it was back in 2006-2012.

So there's no reason for you to bitch about Live when you don't know much about it.

I am sure that with MS deep pockets they can give you better than Gears of War 1. They could have always given better, but until recently they had zero reason to do so.

Just give it time. If PS4 sells better then Xbone and PSN+ proves to be a true success in the new generation, expect MS to start tossing tons of better value your way. Now with the new landscape and greater competition in that space we can all expect greater value.

Start stocking up on subs now.

Maybe MS doesn't wanna rent games or publishers and devs don't wanna give up their recent games for free.

Okay? So keeping more for less. Of course, like you say, publishers only want to give recent games to PSN+ and not XBLive.

I could care less.

Maybe you not bitching enough for better value is the real issue?

lol a little hostility in those words.

What hostility? I was mearly pointing out that his point made little sense.

MS could clearly have added more content if they wished. They only felt it wasn't worth the added cost to them and I believe if people complained more that MS would feel the need to add that extra value.

You also caught me before my edit. I removed it to avoid posts like yours since I knew it would be misunderstood.

Where am I bitching about Live?

I am speaking of the differences between the services and the differences between people bitching back then and how people are reacting now.

My experience of LIVE only comes from between Feb. 2008 and sometime in 2010 before I sold my 360 to a co-worker.

Edit - Also, you say " when you don't know much about it". What did I say in this thread that is untrue?

How about paying what you want to pay for whether it be XBL or PSN and shutup about which one is better or why one company is right and the other is wrong etc

Really who cares. More console wars stuff that eats at this site every day. You guys need to just enjoy stuff rather than fighting about stuff all the time.

That is the main thing, the value. I held off on PSN+ for 2 1/2 years and only got it because of GoW Collection and it's free 1-month PSN+ code.

I shortly thereafter grabbed a 3-month sub to see how much "value" I got, and I was impressed. Of course this is because I owned a PS3 and a PS Vita. Many games I bought and later sold (Due to money restrictions) suddenly became available again. It was awesome, plus I got Rayman for Vita, which I wanted to buy but wouldn't shell out $30-$40 for.

Now I have a PS4 and thanks to BF and Gamestop I got a year for just $30. I am currenly set until Feb 2015 and from now until then I am positive that the games I get to play for my $30 ($50 without a deal) will far outweight what I paid into the service.

It is fantastic value, which is what makes it stand out amongst the rest. This is apparent to me since I am normally a frequent game renter from Redbox and/or Gamefly. Those services costs add up to A LOT more than PSN+.

I bought both subscriptions at $50 dollars, and even though I know I'm paying extra to play online; it feels more like a online rental service much like Netflix, but with a very limited choice that changes every 1 or 2 months, and the choices you download you get to keep for the remainder of the time you have the service.

$30 dollars a better deal, I just hope the choices don't suffer if Sony decides to pay more for servers than game licenses.

If the service they currently provides ever reduces, it is a simple response.

I cancel.

I don't consider myself a Sony fan but I've spoken against paying for online play and I've only owned Sony consoles. I didn't like XBL costing money, and I don't like PSN costing money either. Partly because of that, I'm probably not buying a PS4 unless it become really cheap some day and has some great exclusives I can't get on PC.

It's because it was inevitable, everyone knew it was coming. Sony doesn't have the resources Microsoft has, and a lot of MS's profit came from Live. If you want to blame anyone, blame the people who have no problem paying for online multiplayer. They've made it the norm.

Which reminds me, I need to keep playing War in the North on Steam.

Not a great game, yes I know, but it is a lot of fun online with my friends.

Take care everyone.
