Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why does the back of the case for xbox one games doesn't tell you what the video output or resolution of the game? Is it 720p, 1080p or what?

Does it matter? Video OUTPUT and NATIVE resolutions are two completely different things. Almost every PS360 game lists their supported resolutions on the back of the box up to 1080p for example... that doesn't mean that the games are NATIVE 1080p.

Im talking about the xboxone. The ps4 is native 1080p while the xboxone is only 720p native on same games. You should progress not degress.

its pretty obvious you made this thread to talk about how some PS4 games have higher res than some xbox games. however its obvious you dont know what you are talking about. whats really important on the back of the box is the video output, not the native output. that way people can know if their tv is compatible.

there is no MS hiding anything here, no bad news and no secret meaning.

The back of the case doesn't tell you anything about video output or native resolution. Do you know what you're talking about? No. Do you think people would buy the game if it said 720p on the xboxone versions? No.

yes, they would.

They leave the info off just to piss you off.

You don't sound like an Xbox One owner or potential buyer. I'm sure the Xbox One fanbase appreciates your concern for their well being, though.

Sony are sharp where Micro are soft.

Yes, I did just totally butcher the infamous Genesis marketing campaign. Bite me.

I would buy Dead Rising 3 even if it was 144p, so you'd better not generalizate.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Didn't you hear? resolution does not matter! 720p is the same as 1080p. I don't even know why does PC guys bother with 1440p and 4k resolutions if it is all the same.

So the Xbox One ONLY has HDMI input/output and yet you still have to wonder what resolution it can output?

No its not. Thats like saying that $50 is the same as $100. Not true. Microsoft would have less sales if they put 720p on their game cases. People know now though. Ps4 outselling globally and their other major fan base in Japan hasn't started selling there so ps4 sales will increase even more.

You make me feel ashamed to call myself a fanboy.

They would only sell less if people had both consoles. How many people are that? And even then Microsoft won because they already bought their console.

It's not like people who only own an X1 have a choice in the games so why wouldn't they buy it? Because it's better to have no games than slightly worse looking games than the competitor whose games they will never see because they haven't got their console?

Or are you implying that people look first on the backs of all console games before they decide which system to buy?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

You seriously believe that if they put 720p on their boxes people would stop buying the games? Man o man. So you believe X1 will not have ANY 1080p games?

Would a native 720p game really stop you from enjoying it? Then you my friend should be playing on pc I suppose if resolution means that much to you. Most people buy games to enjoy the games themselves regardless of resolution.

Will you stop playing last gen games now? Are they too ugly to look at considering they are all mostly sub hd?
